Evaluate published information regarding cancer treatment and describe how to use this information in clinical decision-making.
Needs, Target Audience, Educational Methods, Activity Evaluation: In accordance with the standards of the American College of Surgeons Commission on
Cancer, Houston VAMC presents this weekly Multidisciplinary Tumor Board Conference. The diagnosis and treatment of cancer is constantly changing.
Physicians, residents, fellows and other health care professionals involved in the care of cancer patients must be aware of current information on the best means of
treatment in order to alleviate suffering and to prolong life expectancy. Patients with cancer receive optimum care in an interdisciplinary setting. Educational
methods will include lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, and question & answer sessions. Participants will be asked to complete an activity evaluation
form on a quarterly basis.
