The application of innovative technologies and modern techniques of teaching
at the lessons of professional English.

Today, much attention is paid to vocational education and training of working
professions. Knowledge of foreign languages today is an objective, cultural and
economic demand. This is a requirement for business communication and doing
business anywhere in the world, testimony and pledge of competitiveness,
professional socialization of today's younger generation. In modern conditions,
each person must combine professional competence with high culture and active
citizenship.
One of the main aims of the professional English lesson is to study the special
vocabulary and the correct use of lexical and grammatical material in different
situations. Lexical material is selected in view of specialization. Selection of the
vocabulary can be carried out by the names of specialties. For example: on
speciality "The maintenance and repairing of motor transport," I picked up the
vocabulary that is used by the workers of this profession. This is the name of tools,
equipment, types of engines. On speciality "Mechanization of agricultural
production" is chosen vocabulary corresponding to this profession. At the selection
of vocabulary to specialities close connection is needed with such objects as: "
The technical maintenance of cars", " Electrical Engineering", "Tractors and
machinery", "Metal Technology" and others. At the introduction of lexical material
the most effective techniques such as: "Divided into groups", "Remove the extra",
"Comparable", "Fill in the blanks» can be used.
The knowledge of special vocabulary is needed for reading the texts of
professional orientation and for perfection of the spoken language for professional
communication. Texts for reading I pick up taking into account availability and
necessarily related to the future activities of students to control the reading, I
suggest questions, vocabulary exercises based on the study of the text. When
learning to read, you can use tricks "To set accordance ", "To restore the text",
"Text with gaps", "To select the necessary information”. I try to use I try to use
such types of works that assist forming professional qualities. The aim of learning
foreign language in college is a communicative activity of students, that is,
practical foreign language. The task of the teacher is to activate the work of each
student in the learning process, to create a situation for their creative activity.
Possession of innovative technologies and their using in the learning process at the
present stage is also necessary as the ability to read and write.
The innovative technologies help to improve memory, imagination, and personalmotivational and analytical abilities of students. Interactive technologies contribute
to the development and self-development, a high level of intellectual, scientific and
creative potential, both students and teachers. At my lessons of professional
English I use an interactive board. Lessons are developed on flipcharts. The
opportunities of interactive board and creativity in preparing do lessons interesting
and colorful. All the lessons in flipcharts can be corrected and supplemented.
Success in learning of foreign language depends on that, in what degree of quality
of students’ knowledge is in sign of teacher and what attention is spared to the
prophylaxis of errors. Using the interactive whiteboard provides an excellent
opportunity to test knowledge, skills and abilities of students. For control the tester
ACTIVOTE is used. I develop test tasks on the interactive board. When students
do tests it is possible to set a timer for each task or question. Thanks to this
program, students can immediately see the results of their work. You can see all
the answers at once, to make the analysis and summarize. Thus, the students see
their achievements and gaps in their knowledge.
Students' individual work contributes to the development of cognitive skills,
preparing them to work in the professional field, gives an opportunity to improve
English language in speech activity. Students with great interest and enthusiasm
create projects, presentations (individual, group) on various topics. Projects can be
protected in various ways, using drawings, posters, scenarios, and presentations of
the project. Presentation is very popular. For example, the presentation «My
profession - my pride", "" The car of my dream"(specialization" The maintenance
and the repairing of motor transport ")
Students work on the interactive board independently. They create lessons
presentation. The teacher is only their coordinator. Working on a presentation, and
then defending their project, students study not only to work with an interactive
board, but also learn the correct selection of linguistic resources. These tasks
develop personal competencies.
Modern technologies exercises encourage students to think logically, defend
their point of view. The use of such techniques as " a genealogical tree ", "bulb",
"spider", "Fishbone" and many others cause large interest among students,
stimulate their creativity. For example, for students of speciality “The organization
of traffic” I ask the problem (the trunk) - «Traffic accident». They work in groups
of 2-3 people, making “a genealogical tree” where "roots" are the cause and
"branches" are the effect. Each group defends the work.
