Risk Assessment
This Risk Assessment covers the storage of flammable goods
such as paints, solvents, reagents (paints etc.) at SOAS
There are no flammable solvents (other than those relating to paints kept with ISS
stated in the form below), flammable gases or waste dusts from wood workshops
handled or stored at SOAS
There is no long term storage of any paints etc on site at SOAS.
Contractors provide any necessary materials for a specific redecorating project.
These materials are stored in small amounts in the area to be redecorated. The
contractors are also responsible for the removal of all waste paints etc that they use.
The Estates department hold one 500ml can of solvent weld.
Conclusion
The risk(s) from the hazard potential of paint etc shop have been reduced to
the lowest level reasonably practicable.
Therefore no further action is required.
