Baptisms:
Please call the Rectory to make arrangements. Parents must be practicing
Catholics in this Parish or able to provide a letter of permission from the
the proper parish for Baptism here. Godparents, if not St. Joseph
parishioners, must provide a letter that they meet the requirements: a
practicing Catholic, at least 16 years old, have received Baptism, Confirmation,
and First Communion and, if married, in a marriage recognized by the Catholic
Church. A baptized non-Catholic may serve as a Christian witness.

Please call the Rectory at least six months in advance of the wedding
Sacrament of the Sick:
Those hospitalized or home-bound to receive the Sacraments, call the Rectory.

Please pray for the happy repose of the soul of Beatrice Bailey. Mr. Bailey’s Mass of Christian Burial
was held in St. Joseph’s Church last Saturday, December 19th.
Offertory for Sunday, December 20, 2015 - $5,975.00. Thank you for your generosity.
How long does the Christmas Season last? – according to the liturgical books the Christmas Season end
with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. This year that feast falls on Sunday, 10 January. The Church
will remain decorated and Christmas hymns sung until that day.
Congratulations to Mrs. Susan Oliver and Ms. Ashley McCauley – Last Friday, December 18th, Mrs.
Oliver was received into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church, and received the Sacraments of
Confirmation and First Holy Communion. Ms. McCauley received the Sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation and First Holy Communion. What a wonderful Christmas present for both of them.
Thank you to those that prepared, cleaned, and decorated the Church so beautifully for Christmas. Also
thank you to Mrs. Kathy Mancini and Mrs. Beverly Johnson and the Choir for the beautiful Christmas
music at our Christmas Masses.
Mass Intentions - If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone, please contact the Rectory.
Mass Cards are also available to send to the person or family for whom the Mass is being offered.
New Year’s Eve Dance will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Parish
Hal in Mechanicsville from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Music by Mean Gene. Tickets are $30 a person, $60 a
