during the course. At the end of summer semester there is a

Characteristic of the course:
The main claim of this new one-semester course is to introduce Erasmus students with positive Labour
Law in the Czech Republic. The course is focused on the essential legal institutes of the Czech Labour
Law, starting with the general concepts, sources of Labour Law, continuing with the methods of
termination of the contract of employment and ending with the collective bargaining.
The reader needed for this course will be worked out.
Topics of the lectures:
THE GENERAL CONCEPTS OF THE CZECH LABOUR LAW.
SOURCES OF THE LABOUR LAW. - The Czech Sources according the Legal Force. Labour Law
and EU.
THE GENERAL PRINCIPLES. - Employment Discrimination, Discrimination Against Women.
EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIPS.
Creation, Alternation and Extinguishment of Employmen Relations. Party to Employment
relations. Rights and Duties of Parties to Employment Relations.
EMPLOYMENT. - Creation and Alternation.
EMPLOYMENT. - Extinguishment.
TERMINATION OF THE CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT (DISMISSAL).
Legal Reasons for Termination. Protection of Employees Within the Termination.
PROTECTION AND CARE OF EMPLOYEES.
Work Conditions. Safety in a place of Work. Special Work Conditions for Women and
Young Employees.
WORKING HOURS AND HOLIDAY.
WAGE AND SALARY. - Protection of Wage. Equal Pay.
