Duo-Gard Decorative Panels - Proper care and handling
Unintended damage or misshaping of panels
Duo-Gard Decorative Panels should be stored in a horizontal orientation whenever possible. They must also be
supported along the entire length of the panel and not be positioned or stored in any fashion that would create
any degree of bowing or bending in the panels.
Duo-Gard Decorative Panels that are stored vertically should use the original crate as support whenever
possible. Panels stored vertically must be fully supported so that the angle does not cause any bowing or
misshaping of the panels.
Duo-Gard Decorative Panels should be stored in the original packing conditions until the end user is ready to
install the panels. After the panels are inspected for accuracy of the requested order, carefully repack them in the
original crate with protective liners or in a manner that is consistent with the original packing precautions.
Caution must be taken when unpacking and installing the panels to prevent damage to the surfaces of the panels.
(panels may be scratched by sharp edges and objects)
Note to Dealers, Distributors, and Contractors
A.
Duo-Gard Decorative Panels, systems and accessories should be delivered in the manufacturer’s
standard protective packaging.
B.
Do not deliver Duo-Gard Decorative Panels, components and accessories to the project site until all
areas are ready for installation.
C.
Store materials in a flat orientation in a dry place that is not exposed to exterior elements.
D.
Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to finished surfaces. Provide protective coverings to
prevent damage, scratches, or staining following installation for duration of the project.
E.
Before installing Duo-Gard Decorative Panels, permit them to reach room temperature.
F.
Do not install Duo-Gard Decorative Panels until spaces are enclosed, weatherproof, and ambient
temperatures and humidity are maintained at the levels indicated for occupied use of the site.

Cleaning Instructions
Duo-Gard Decorative Panels can be cleaned periodically. A seasonal cleaning program will help prevent dirt
build-up and keep your Decorative Panels looking new.
Rinse with lukewarm water to remove dust and dirt using a micro-fiber soft cloth, chamois, or a damp clean
sponge and a solution of mild soap or liquid detergent in water. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Always use a soft damp cloth or chamois to blot dry. Rubbing with a dry cloth can scratch the material and
create a static charge. Never use scrapers or squeegees on Duo-Gard Decorative Panels. Also avoid any scouring
compounds, gasoline, benzene, acetone, lacquers, thinner, or other strong solvents.
Do not use typical ammonia based spray cleaners or cleaning solutions.
DO NOT:




Use a Squeegee.
Use solvents, alkaline, abrasive cleaning agents, or typical ammonia based cleaners.
Clean in hot sun or at elevated temperatures.
Rub with a dry cloth.
