Homework Sheet for Mr. Stroup’s class
I will give more specific homework assignments each and every Monday.
However, if your student doesn’t remember where he or she placed the
assignments, the following will be helpful and should be followed.
As you write the Spelling words each week, please study and focus on the letters and the blends.
Monday – Write the spelling words three times each. Study for Spelling test.
Complete the Monday section of the Daily Language Review.
Tuesday – Write any number of sentences using at least ten spelling words. Make
sure you understand the meanings of the words. This does not need to be 10 different
sentences. Work on being creative. Study for Spelling test. Complete the Tuesday
section of the Daily Language Review.
Wednesday – Write all of the spelling words in ABC (alphabetical) order. Study for
Spelling test. Complete the Wednesday section of the DLR.
Thursday – Write all of the spelling words in pyramid form. Study for Spelling Test.
Complete the Thursday section of the DLR.
Friday – Spelling Test will be given during class. The Daily Language review will be
turned in each Friday.

Throughout the year we will have Language Arts and spelling homework each evening,
excluding Friday evenings. The daily reviews will be used as an overview and to help
keep us on grade level. Be sure to complete the Daily Language Review and spelling
assignments each evening. When these are completed in a timely manner, there are
only 5 Language Arts questions and one spelling assignment each evening.

**It is extremely important that each student read each evening for at least 25 – 30
minutes. Remember – HARD work will pay off with GREAT results!
