I am a Student at ______________________________________ (Community College) and looking to transfer
to a HBCU. I plan to participate in the Fall Annual Black College Tour, November 4th – 8th, 2015. The tour
will help me decide which college to attend, as well as allow me to meet numerous African American
Professors. It will broaden my knowledge and increase my options. I can make an inform choice for my higher
education. I want to attend a College or University that will allow me to reach my full academic, social, and
spiritual potential. I want to be successful! I will be traveling with other students from the Bay Area and will
make new friends.
The Colleges and Universities we will visit are: Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College and Morehouse
College in Atlanta, Georgia; Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama and Tuskegee University in
Tuskegee Institute, Alabama. Alabama A&M and Oakwood College are visited on alternant years.
I have heard that living in this area of California has limited my knowledge of African Americans and our
contributions to society. I know I have not had a lot of African American Teachers and Roll models during my
schooling.
This is how I need your help! The cost of the tour is $1325.00. I am requesting your financial assistance.
A donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated. In other words, no donation is too small.
C.A.R.L. Council for Academic Resources and Leadership is a 501(c)3 pending organization.
