Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited had forward 2360 prime and cast sheep at their
weekly sale, which included the Annual Xmas Show. The judge was Richard
Henderson c/o Woodhead Bros, Turriff, who had 28 pens of sheep in front of him. His
champions were found in the Continential Class from Gail Paterson, Mossnae whose
3 Beltex lambs weighed 50kgs and sold to £160 or 320p to Ballard Butchers, King
Street, Castle Douglas. Reserve Champions were from the Texel Class from
Douganhill Farms, scaling 47kgs and sold at £100 or 213p to the judge.

A smaller show of 205 cast ewes and rams sold to £131 for Suffolk Tups ex Cullinaw.
Ewes to £113 for Texels ex Barnboard, Mules to £84 ex Barstibly and Blackfaces to
£64.50 ex Mossyard.
