Accelerated Algebra 2A Syllabus Teacher Algebra 2 is a course in the study of different families of functions. Each chapter will study properties and applications of a new kind of equation. This course also incorporates SAT training throughout the year. Course Content Unit 1 – Working with Functions Unit 2 – Quadratic Functions Unit 3 – Polynomial Functions Unit 4 – Rational Functions Unit 5 – Radical Functions Materials Pencil, spiral notebook, 2 pocket folder, graphing calculator, and one journal are needed by the fourth day of class. A graphing calculator may be checked out from the media center while supplies last. Text Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Algebra 2 Grading 65% test and quiz scores, 15% homework and classwork, 20% final exam Missed Assignments Students have two days per absence to make up work from a non-school related absence. Work from a school related absence should be obtained from the instructor prior to the absence and due upon return. Late work will not be accepted. Students needing extra time need permission from the instructor. Math Department Testing Policies No student will be allowed to have an electronic device in their possession during a test other than an approved calculator. Possession of an electronic device capable of transmitting messages or taking photos will be considered cheating. Storage for these electronic devices will be provided in the classroom. Tests will have both calculator and non-calculator portions. Only approved calculators will be allowed on the calculator active questions of a test.
