Course Objectives:
(1) To become familiar with the basic principles and techniques associated with
neuropharmacological studies.
(2) To learn how neuropharmacological manipulation of transmitter systems can be used
to (a) gain insight into the normal functioning of transmitter systems and (b) alter
transmitter activity for therapeutic purposes, especially in psychiatric disorders such
as substance abuse, mood disorders, and schizophrenia as well as neurodegeneration.
