Donna Driscoll, RN, MSN, CEN Education: MSN Nursing Education, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine BSN, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine ASN, New Hampshire Community College, Berlin, NH Specialties: Nursing Education Emergency Nursing Nursing Leadership About Professor Driscoll Donna graduated from an associate degree-nursing program in 1996, which provided a strong foundation for her nursing practice. She obtained her baccalaureate degree in nursing while working as the Nurse Manager of a community emergency department and then began teaching as a clinical instructor while she pursued her graduate degree in nursing education. Donna began her nursing educator career in 2008 while working for the Community College System of New Hampshire. It was her dream position teaching what she loved, nursing. Donna has been involved with the State Board of Nursing on the simulation education advisory committee. She has taught a multitude of nursing courses and enjoys working with students in the simulation laboratory. Her professional nursing experience includes, medical surgical nursing, critical care, leadership, and her true passion of emergency nursing. She also worked on an informatics team to build an electronic medical record and assisted with its implementation. Donna’s certifications include: Certified Emergency Nursing, (CEN), Trauma Nurse Certification (TNCC), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Her graduate capstone project included simulation education, classroom lecture and working in a Community Health Center developing an asthma clinic for both adult and pediatric populations. She worked with patients and providers on asthma education regarding clinical guidelines and electronic charting of the asthma template. She is a member of the Emergency Nursing Association and the Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International. Donna is currently working on her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree (DNP) and her research includes new graduate RN and simulation training to assist with clinical reasoning to respond to patient clinical emergencies.
