Outline 2 principles that defines the sociocultural level of Analysis
The sociocultural level of analysis is the analysis of how humans interact socially
and if their behavior changes due to social reasoning, as we are social animals.
Although there are 4 main principles in the sociocultural level of analysis this essay
would be discussing the 2 more important ones that plays a bigger role in this
psychology.
The first principle that this essay is going to be talking about is the principle that
humans are social animals, hence they have a sense of belonging and staying as a
group. This can be seen anywhere in the world as people with common interests or
things that they can relate to would stick together like how many people’s family
stay together after childbirth, while other animals such as snake just leave their
children by themselves. A study that proves this principle is the study in which the
researchers divided a group into 2 teams the eagles and the rattles each having
pride on their team. They then developed a sense of belonging to their team and
when a game of captures the flag between the teams started the teams hated each
other and prided on their own team to win and consider the team’s win their win.
The other principle that this essay is going to talk about is the fact that one’s culture
influences one’s behavior. This can be seen in many countries, tribes and villages as
each of them has their own traditions of ways of doing things which effects one
behavior greatly. An example would be that students from Thailand would behave
different if compared to students from the U.S because of their culture. As students
in Thailand would show respect to their teachers regardless of anything they do due
to their age difference and their knowledge, while in the U.S respect is something a
teacher has to earn from his or her students.
In conclusion, the 2 most important principles in there’s are the principles that
states that 1: Humans are social animals, and have a sense of belonging, and 2:
Cultural differences affect behavior. This can be concluded from the fact that since
humans are social animals it affects us the most.
Grading:
For Boy: Boy’s essay is decent and meets the requirements set to get a good score,
although there were some grammatical mistakes, he made explained his points and
gets the point across thoroughly, The things he can improve upon are some
grammatical mistakes and the long winded sentences to shorten the essay and get
more to he point faster.
For Nick: Nick’s essay is extremely short compared to others and does not really get
his points across to the reader. There were a lot of grammatical errors and an
excessive amount of personal pronouns used. The essay lacked information in
general and supporting studies to be used to confirm the information.
