Information regarding changes to the Charity’s Insurance Provider from the 1st October 2014
Q
What is the name of the charity’s new insurance company?
A
The charity has chosen to engage the Broker Thame Insurance Services, and the
underwriter for the policies will be Equine & Livestock Insurance Company.
Q
When will the change from Pet Protect Ltd to Thame Insurance Services begin?
A
We will start to open policies with Thame Insurance Services from the 1st October 2014
when each dog’s current policy comes up for renewal.
Q
Will I have to do anything in regard to the transfer of my dog’s policy?
A
No, you will not be required to do anything. We will do the change over, and will coordinate all correspondence with and received from Pet Protect.
Q
How will this affect me?
A
The charity will continue to pay for the policy, and you as a client will still be responsible
for paying the excess fee, per condition, per insurance year.
The fixed excess on each policy is set at £100.00.
This figure will not increase as your dog gets older, and there will be no vet fee
contribution on the policy.
Q
Will I receive a copy of my dog’s insurance policy?
A
Yes. When your dog’s insurance policy is due to be renewed and has been transferred,
you will receive a copy of the policy from Thame Insurance Services. Please be patient
during this time as we are transferring policies over to Thame Insurance Services on a
month to month basis so it may take a little time before you receive your policy
document.
Q
Who do I contact if I need a claim form?
A
When you have been notified that your dogs policy has been transferred you will need
to ring Thame Insurance Services on 01844 217708 and a claim form will be sent to you.
If you have not received a message from us about your policy being changed over
then please contact Christine on 01295 759801.

What level of cover will the new insurance policy give?
A
Please see the chart overleaf.
Q
Will my dog’s existing health issues be covered?
A
Yes, the level of cover is slightly less, but the policy’s will transfer to Thame Insurance
Services with no exemptions.
Q
When my dog is ill and I contact Thame Insurance Services for a claim form, do I still
need to inform Dogs for the Disabled?

Banbury Office.
