The inaugural Guardians of the Heart Conference will be held at the Downstream Casino and Resort February 16-17, 2015. There will be no charge to attendees. Travel, lodging, breakfast, and dinner will be your responsibility. The conference will consist of two days of outstanding cardiac training provided by Bob Page. Bob is an internationally known speaker, instructor, author and paramedic. He has presented seminars across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and Japan. He is recognized for his energetic, humorous and motivational style. Day 1 will consist of Bob’s patented Multi-Lead Medics Program. This is an 8-hour, highly motivating, nonstop interactive course on 12-Lead ECG including proper lead placement, axis and hemiblock determination, bundle branch blocks, differentiating wide complex tachycardia and myocardial infarction recognition. Also included is the use of a 15-lead ECG. Participants in the program will read approximately 200 12-Lead ECGs, gaining both experience and confidence in their newly learned skill. The seminar is delivered as a state of the art computer presentation enhanced with sound, graphics, animation, music and video clips. A “Grand Round” is scheduled for the evening of the first day to discuss actual cardiac case studies. A social hour will immediately follow the grand round. Day 2’s morning will bring the Multi-Lead Medics Enhanced 12-Lead ECG Interpretation course. A 4-hour enhanced course designed to show acute care providers how to get extra information from a 12 or 15 lead ECG allowing greater insight into the pathophysiology behind the patient with cardiac or other problems. The afternoon of Day 2 will see you spending an exhilarating 4 hours “Riding the Waves.” Slap the Cap! Real use for Capnography in EMS is a nationally presented course on Capnography that is an eye opening experience when participants learn the incredible benefits gained from full ETCO2 monitoring and waveform assessment. This is a comprehensive 4-hour workshop. In this exciting and informative session, Bob reviews the related A&P of the respiratory system and explains, through the use of multi-media and audience involvement, the role of Capnography in EMS; from cases of cardiac arrest to airway and ventilation: assessment and management, from closed head injury to tension pneumothorax to shock, from Triage of any patient to the ongoing monitoring of the patient. In fact, anyone with a problem with ABC’s should have continuous monitoring of ETCO2 and waveform. Come and learn how to integrate this session into your practice and utilize it to its fullest potential! Capnography: it’s not just for confirming tube placement. As an added benefit, participants will receive the inaugural, one of a kind, collectible “Guardians of the Heart Challenge Coin.” Conference Agenda Day 1 Multi-Lead Medics 12 Lead Interpretation Course 0800 – 0915: Acquiring and Validating the 12 Lead ECG 0915 – 0930: Break 0930 – 1030: The 15 Lead ECG (STEMI) 1030 – 1045: Break 1045 – 1200: Axis and Hemi block Determination 1200 – 1300: Lunch 1300 – 1400: Bundle Branch Blocks 1400 – 1415: Break 1415 – 1530: Wide Complex Tachycardia 1530 – 1545: Break 1545 – 1630: Wrap up and STEMI Finale DAY 2 Enhanced Multi-Lead Medic 0800 – 0915: Systemic review and LBBB and AMI 0915 – 0930: Break 0930 – 1030: Chamber Enlargement 1030 – 1045: Break 1045 – 1200: Electrolytes, QT, and ACS 1200 – 1300: Lunch Capnography Course 1300 – 1400: Relevant A&P review 1400 – 1415: Break 1415 – 1530: Technology Review and Waveform Interpretation 1530 – 1545: Break 1545 – 1700: Real Clinical Applications (Last Name) (Address) (First Name) (City) (ST) (Phone No.) ☐ Full 2-Day Conference (Zip) (E-Mail) (Organization) Please check one (MI) (Certification Level) ☐ Day 1 Only ☐ Day 2 Only Lunch will be provided each day and snacks will be available during breaks.
