Instructions:
Step 1: Questions from Primary Documents
Use the primary documents located on the web page and answer the questions for each section (Pacifists, Loyalists, & Patriots). You do not have to read the entire documents; selections from the different collections that will help you answer the questions are fine.
Step 2: Secondary Sources Research
Use the Research Notes Worksheet and the selected resources on the assignment web page to gather background information for your narrative. Be sure to include detailed notes that will assist you in developing well-written paragraphs. NO COPYING/PASTING OF NOTES IS ALLOWED! You should bullet or number your notes and paraphrase what you find out in your own words.

Step 4: Narrative
You will write an original narrative about the theme of this research: patriots, loyalists, and pacifists in the American Revolution. You will need to use the notes from both secondary and primary sources you used, along with your reflection on the “craft of history” and your experience analyzing an historical time period.
Your narrative should include the following
Typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman font, size 12, 3-5 pages in length.
Student reflected on primary and secondary resources and was able to distinguish between the two. Student used the research articles, documents, and/or websites they located as part of their research to identify each as primary or secondary sources.
Address the key questions of this project in your narrative.
Your narrative should summarize the beliefs and struggles of the 3 roles researched, and include any personal aspects about the war that they gathered from the use of primary resources.
The student was able to reflect on their experiences during the research process, including any frustrations and difficulties searching for and analyzing primary documents. Student should now have an entry-level understanding of the methods used by historians to find the truth.
A list of all the resources you used at the end of the document, separated by primary and secondary. For primary resources located on the web page or in Ancestry, simply copy/paste the urls provided to you. For secondary sources, you must copy/paste the MLA citation from the actual article.

You will create your student account in the library on Friday, November
13th . After you have completed your narrative essay, go to www.turnitin.com
and upload your Word document no later than Friday, November 20 th by 3:00PM
