Librarian’s Report October 15th, 2013 November Programs The Adventures of Buffalo & Tough Cookie : Thursday, November 14th, 6pm Hikers Dan and Janelle will share their adventures of hiking NH's "52 With A View" list. Bub Sheffield : Tuesday, November 19th, 6pm Harold (Bub) Sheffield served with Carlson's Raiders from 1943 to 1945 and saw action in Bougainville, Guadalcanal, and other islands in the Pacific. Join us for a discussion of Sheffield's firsthand recollections of his experience in one of the most elite fighting units to serve during the Second World War. “The ABCs of the ACA: Using the Health Insurance Marketplace” : Thursday, November 21st, 5:30pm. Presented by an AARP volunteer Starting January 1, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires just about everyone to have health insurance. And just about everyone has questions about how the law will affect them personally, such as: If I don’t have coverage, where do I buy it? What happens if I can’t afford it? If I already have insurance through my employer or Medicare is anything going to change for me? Ongoing Children’s Programs: First Pages Lapsit: Mondays at 10am Afterschool Story Time: Wednesdays at 3pm Library Buddies: Fridays at 3pm Staff DT will be taking some time off in November Friends The Friends have been working hard coming up with some creepy crafts for our upcoming Children’s Halloween Crafts program on October 25th at 3pm. They purchased the some new markers, crayons and construction paper for the library to use for this program and programs in the future. The Book & Bake Sale was a success. The Friends brought in about $780 for the library. Reminder: The Friends Appreciation Brunch is on October 17th, 10am-12pm Building Maitenance The floor in the basement is getting wet when it rains – should we rip up the carpet, buy a dehumidifier? Odds & Ends The Library will be closed on November 28th-29th for the Thanksgiving Holiday Yearbook ad is due by 10/31 – which size?
