Undergraduate Research Assistant
 Systematically investigate the binary and ternary phase (ZnS, SnS,
Cu2SnS3, etc) formed during CZTS(Cu2ZnSnS4) synthesis.
 Develop the method to synthesize structural targeted ZnS, SnS, SnS2, and
Cu2SnS3.
 Selenize binary/ternarys to form thin films from nanocrystal inks.
Sep 2011- May2012 Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN)
Undergraduate Honor Research Concentration
 Incorporate germanium into CZTS to make bandgap tunable CZTGeS for
the application of thin-film solar cells.
 Development of novel material systems based on CZTS through elemental
substation and doping.
May-Aug 2011

“Advancing thin film solar cell utilizing nanotechnology”
Systematic investigation in composition tailoring during nanocrystal synthesis and
its impact on the solar cell performance.
 Synthesis CZTS (Cu2ZnSnS4) with different ratio of precursors, under
different temperature.
 Fabrication of CZTS-based thin film solar cell, and made 6.5% efficiency
CZTS solar cell.
 Qualitative and quantitative analysis of synthesized nanocrystals via
Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD), Energy Dispersive Spectrometry
(EDX) and Raman spectroscopy.
 Presentation on the 2011 SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research
Fellowship) symposium.
