Emphasize that biography is nonfiction, so the events happened to a real person. Resources: Biography on Wilma Rudolph and Susan B. Anthony, construction paper, white paper, scissors glue, pen/pencil, and detail chart. Activity Steps: Total time: __20-25__minutes 1. Write on the board: What is the different between autobiography and biography? 2. Students will answer the question on their own paper. 3. Elicit responses from volunteers. 4. Have students take out the foldable that they were working on with either Wilma Rudolph or Susan B. Anthony. 5. Students should complete the categories for each section of the foldable: Family life, Failure, Success, Organizations, and a Graphic to represent the person and her name. 6. If time permits, have students start brainstorming about possible people that they could write their biography about.
