BVA HS Application for the Preschool Program The Preschool classes are composed of students in 11th -12th grades. Working with young children is an honor and a privilege. It can also be challenging, requiring great creativity. For those considering a career in teaching, child care, pediatric medicine, or any career in working with children, this course is excellent preparation. Because the parents of our three- and four-year old students are entrusting us with their greatest, most precious possession, the Belle Vernon Area High School administration and staff will work to ensure the high school students enrolled in the course are appropriately placed. All students in Preschool classes will work together to fulfill all the course requirements. All students will be graded on how hard they work and how well they cooperate with each other in planning, preparing, conducting, and evaluating the Preschool program. Class enrollment in these courses is limited and this application will be used to help choose students for this class. If too many qualified students apply for this class then a short interview may be required by the committee to make the selections for enrollment. EXPECTATIONS OF THE COURSE: BVAHS expects students who are enrolled in the Preschool courses to set the best possible example for our young learners. This means inappropriate dress or language will not be tolerated in the class. Additionally, should significant absenteeism occur, the student may be invited to leave the class.
