Coachright courses All of the below listed courses can be delivered on an accredited and non-accredited basis. Using Teamwork Skills National Open College Network (NOCN) Level 1 accredited course which covers goals and targets, a session plan and an evaluation. It is one half of the Award in Progression alongside Improving own Learning Performance (IOLP). Health and Wellbeing This course looks at how the learners want to and can chance their own lifestyle and we discuss the steps to do so. It’s run as an IOLP which is also an accredited Level 1 by NOCN and is one half of the Award in Progression. Meeting Life’s Challenges Learners set themselves some short term “challenges” to overcome (e.g. save money, secure an interview, join a gym, etc…). They start to break them down into small steps and focus on the most important aspects of the challenge. They then review their performance. This is also run as an IOLP. Developing DJ Skills Delivered by Coachright’s own resident DJ, this course is an accredited Level 1 course by NOCN and is a basic introduction to what is involved in DJ’ing. The course is mainly practical learning how to mix, match, synchronise and juggle. Advanced DJ Skills Again, delivered Coachright’s own in-house DJ, this advanced course, it accredited by NOCN and is run as the IOLP award. Learners find out more detail about DJ’ing and again set themselves targets to reach as well as producing their own mix which goes alongside their portfolio. Sports Leaders Day Certificate Learners look at taking control of a group, communication skills, organisation tools, health and safety in sport and adapting sessions, which culminates with them having to lead a session to their peers, then receiving feedback from the tutor. This non-accredited course lasts for seven hours where upon completion; learners receive a certificate. Sports Leaders Level 1 This is a practical qualification in which learners aged over 13 must demonstrate their ability to lead others by planning, developing, delivering and review a sporting activity. Learners also look at the role of the sports official as well as at the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The course is accredited through Sports Leaders and is an excellent starting point for those wanting to develop their leadership skills. Community Sports Leaders Level 2 This course for those aged 16 and over, teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit, however it does require learners to demonstrate their leadership skills for a total of 10 hours. Sports Volunteering Level 1 The Level 1 Award in Sports Volunteering is a practical qualification in which learners must demonstrate their ability to volunteer in simple sport and/or recreational activities. The learner does not have to have sporting aptitude to complete this qualification as it will be their volunteering skills, not their sporting ability, that will be assessed. Dance qualifications: Dance Leadership Level one: Equal to a GCSE Level. Dance Leadership Level Two: Equal to a BTEC level. IDTA (international Dance Teachers Association): There are many exams that can be taken in this section from Level 1 to Teachers Level depending on the exam and how many hours are required. UDO (United Dance Organisation): This is a course where you learn a Street Dance Routine for Level one and Two (?) which certain requirements for example popping and locking will be requested.
