Coachright courses
All of the below listed courses can be delivered on an accredited and non-accredited basis.
Using Teamwork Skills
National Open College Network (NOCN) Level 1 accredited course which covers goals and
targets, a session plan and an evaluation. It is one half of the Award in Progression alongside
Improving own Learning Performance (IOLP).
Health and Wellbeing
This course looks at how the learners want to and can chance their own lifestyle and we
discuss the steps to do so. It’s run as an IOLP which is also an accredited Level 1 by NOCN
and is one half of the Award in Progression.
Meeting Life’s Challenges
Learners set themselves some short term “challenges” to overcome (e.g. save money, secure
an interview, join a gym, etc…). They start to break them down into small steps and focus on
the most important aspects of the challenge. They then review their performance. This is
also run as an IOLP.
Developing DJ Skills
Delivered by Coachright’s own resident DJ, this course is an accredited Level 1 course by
NOCN and is a basic introduction to what is involved in DJ’ing. The course is mainly practical
learning how to mix, match, synchronise and juggle.
Advanced DJ Skills
Again, delivered Coachright’s own in-house DJ, this advanced course, it accredited by NOCN
and is run as the IOLP award. Learners find out more detail about DJ’ing and again set
themselves targets to reach as well as producing their own mix which goes alongside their
portfolio.
Sports Leaders Day Certificate
Learners look at taking control of a group, communication skills, organisation tools, health
and safety in sport and adapting sessions, which culminates with them having to lead a
session to their peers, then receiving feedback from the tutor. This non-accredited course
lasts for seven hours where upon completion; learners receive a certificate.
Sports Leaders Level 1
This is a practical qualification in which learners aged over 13 must demonstrate their ability
to lead others by planning, developing, delivering and review a sporting activity. Learners
also look at the role of the sports official as well as at the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The
course is accredited through Sports Leaders and is an excellent starting point for those
wanting to develop their leadership skills.
Community Sports Leaders Level 2
This course for those aged 16 and over, teaches generic leadership skills such as
organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a
fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit,
however it does require learners to demonstrate their leadership skills for a total of 10
hours.
Sports Volunteering Level 1
The Level 1 Award in Sports Volunteering is a practical qualification in which learners must
demonstrate their ability to volunteer in simple sport and/or recreational activities. The
learner does not have to have sporting aptitude to complete this qualification as it will be
their volunteering skills, not their sporting ability, that will be assessed.
