Job Role: To work under the direction of the Group Service and Operations Managers to service, install, commission, maintain and modify large integrated electronic security systems; primarily for CCTV, Access Control, Alarm, IT and AV applications. Predominantly multi systems designs. There is a wide variety of equipment in use and a flexible approach will be needed with a constant emphasis on learning and development of your technical skill base. This is a responsible job that will involve a great deal of self-directed field work and liaison with clients, IT departments and suppliers at all levels. You will be required to provide and manage technical support, documentation and training, on and off site, to clients and field engineers. This role entails the management of engineers and sub-contractors on site ensuring that health and safety requirements are met. An advanced understanding of Access Control and/or AV Systems will service as a big benefit towards the successful candidate. Reporting: You will be reporting directly to the Group Service and Operations Managers, as well as the Group Managing Director from time to time. Job Description: Key Responsibilities of the role include: While the exact responsibilities will vary, the main duties of the Project/Service Engineer can be summarised as follows: Technical support of client installation and repair of CCTV, DVRs, Access Control (Inc. Biometrics &, Turnstiles), AV, networked IT systems, routers, switches and servers. Support the installation and repair of TCP/IP and networking (this function is heavily supported by the group remote IT support desk) On-site management of engineers and sub-contractors. Review project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes; recommending actions as necessary. Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating resources and resolving problems. Review products performance and liaise with Group Operations Manager with concerns. Maintain project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Complete Small Works, Service Calls & Maintenance Calls when necessary. Liaise with Sales Force, reference Design and equipment requirements Control project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions Required knowledge & experience: An advanced understanding of Access Control and/or AV Systems. A practical knowledge base of CCTV, Access Control (Including Biometrics & Turnstiles), AV, networked IT systems, routers, switches and servers.
