Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies
86 Graduate from the CSRT-11 Course – Eight-six Fellows graduated March 24 from the Asia-Pacific Center for
Security Studies’ Comprehensive Security Responses to Terrorism (CSRT) Course. The military and civilian
participants who attended the four-week course came from 46 locations, primarily throughout the Asia-Pacific region,
as well as other far reaches of the globe. …more.
George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies
Alumni Conference Covers Corruption – Marshall Center distinguished alumni met in Garmisch to learn about and
share experiences on the topic of countering corruption. Twenty-two deputy ministers, deputy chiefs of defense,
ambassadors and parliamentarians from 20 different countries met March 21-23 at the Marshall Center for the
conference titled, “Strengthening Counter Corruption Efforts.” …more.

Lebanese Armed Forces Regional Security Conference Begins – Director James A. Larocco and Course Director Bob
Sharp and Professors Murhaf Jouejati and Sami Hajjar represented NESA at this four-day conference funded by the
Regional Defense Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program.

DIILS Introduces Acting Director – The Defense Institute of International Legal Studies is pleased to introduce our
Acting Director, Commander Jonathan H. Wagshul JAGC, USN. Commander Wagshul graduated from Georgetown
University, where he majored in Russian and minored in government (B.S., cum laude, 1986), Washington and Lee
School of Law (J.D., 1989), and the Judge Advocate General’s School, U.S. Army (L.L.M. in military law with a
subspecialty in international and operational law.) …more.
US Army Medical Department Center and School
AMEDDC&S Supports Radiation Protection for US Forces Aiding Japan – Our hearts go out to the people of Japan in
the wake of the horrific tragedy that has occurred there. And our words are not hollow as, in the Army's efforts to
support Japan, PACOM has reached out for staff augmentation. AMEDDC&S’s LTC Rodrigo Chavez, an Army
Health Physicist, has been tapped to augment the PACOM Surgeon's staff in providing expertise on radiation
protection for US Forces deployed ISO Operation Tomodachi in Japan. LTC Chavez is the Chief, CBRNE Sciences
Branch in the Academy of Health Sciences.

Dr. Wright joined the Center for Civil-Military Relations in 2003, following several years’ teaching experience at The
George Washington University and the James Monroe Graduate School of Mary Washington College. Her teaching
interests include Competitive Sourcing, Cost and Price Analysis, and Negotiation, while research interests Emerging
Trends in International Defense Acquisition; NATO, EU and Other Defense-Related Alliances; and Outsourcing. …more.
