Miss CCMS 2013 Saturday, November 23, 2013 3:00pm Clay-Chalkville High School Auditorium *proceeds benefit CCMS through providing non-public funds for teacher professional development opportunities, teacher incentives, technology purchases (ex. Wireless laptops carts, wireless routers, Promethean Boards, Ipads, digital projector mounts, etc.) and fulfilling other educational needs that arise throughout the year. Crowns & Roses Information Packet Pageant Criteria Students planning to enter the pageant must meet the following criteria: 1. Must be currently enrolled in CCMS 2. No more than two Class 2 Offenses for this year (prior to and up to pageant date) 3. No Class 3 offenses prior to and up to the pageant date. Entry Fees PAGEANT ENTRY FEE The pageant entry fee is $40.00 per contestant. Please remember that many local businesses or family members will be happy to sponsor girls for the pageant. All fees are due by Friday, November 15, 2013. Turn them in to Mrs. Freeman before second period ends. ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. PHOTOGENIC CONTEST ENTRY FEE THE PHOTOGENIC CONTEST ENTRY FEE IS $10.00 PER CONTESTANT. This is an optional entry. All contestants in the pageant do not have to enter the photogenic contest, however, all photogenic contest entrants must participate in the pageant. Pictures should be 5x7 head and shoulders COLOR photos. Please do not write on the picture. Pictures do not have to be professionally made. All photos will be returned to contestants after the pageant. Turn in pictures no later than Monday, November 18, 2013. Please enclose photos in an envelope prior to turning them in. ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. PARTICIPANT T-SHIRT Each participant will have the option to purchase a pageant t-shirt. The cost of each t-shirt is $15.00. T-shirt money is due by Friday, November 15, 2013. T-SHIRT FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Pictures PRE-PAGEANT Belmont Studios (the company that handles our school pictures) will be ready to begin pageant pictures as soon as the pageant starts. Contestants will be able to have their pictures taken during the pageant (when their group is not on stage). Packages and pricing are attached to this packet. CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE OUT TO BELMONT STUDIOS and brought to the pageant! NO PICTURES WILL BE TAKEN UNLESS THEY ARE PAID FOR ON SITE!!!!!!!! POST-PAGEANT The photographer will still be available after the pageant. Groups that are required to have their pictures taken after the pageant are: Top 10, and all winners, including photogenic contest winners, Miss Congeniality, and crowd favorites. Group pictures are required. Winners who have their pictures taken after the pageant will need to pay for an additional package if they have already had an individual picture taken. Packages and pricing are attached to this packet. Tickets GENERAL ADMISSION All tickets will be purchased the day of the pageant for $10.00 each, and they are all general admission tickets. These tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Once all seats are sold, no one else will be admitted to the auditorium. All children who will need their own seat in the auditorium will need a ticket. Participant entry fee will pay to admit ONE person (this person will receive a special bracelet to wear to get backstage). Doors will open at 4:30pm. Miss CCHS will also be held along with Miss CCMS, so make sure to arrive early to get a seat Awards SIXTH & SEVENTH GRADES There will be a Top 10 (possibly less or more depending on the number of participants) announced just prior to the 2nd Runner-Up, 1st Runner-Up and 6th Grade Princess. Each Top Ten Finalist will receive a certificate. Each runner-up will receive a trophy. Each princess will receive a trophy, crown and flowers. There will also be a photogenic winner announced after the top ten, as well as crowd favorite. The photogenic and crowd favorite award winners will receive plaques. EIGHTH GRADE There will be a Top 15 announced (possibly less depending on the number of participants). After the Top 15 has been announced, each participant will be asked an on-stage question that they will answer. Each Top 15 Finalist will also take another walk. From the Top 15, there will be a 3rd Runner-Up, a 2nd Runner-Up, a 1st Runner-Up, 8th Grade Princess and Miss CCMS. Each Top 15 Finalist will receive a certificate. Each Runner-up will receive a trophy. The 8th Grade Princess will receive a trophy and crown. Miss CCMS will receive a trophy, a crown and flowers. When awards are being given, the photogenic winner and crowd favorite winner will also be announced. For 8th grade only, there is also a Miss Congeniality award. Miss Congeniality will also receive a plaque. PHOTOGENIC AWARDS Pictures entered in the Photogenic Contest are judged on pageant day by the same judges that judge the pageant. Judges are looking for age appropriate hair and make up. Pictures should be 5x7 color photos. All photos will be displayed during the pageant for everyone to view. Miss Congeniality The 8th grade only will vote for a Miss Congeniality. The voting will take place via secret ballot at one of the last pageant practices. Crowd Favorite Crowd favorite is an award which allows the audience to vote for their favorite contestant. Each grade will have a crowd favorite. Votes are $1.00 each and are only taken the day of the pageant. A table in the lobby will be designated for taking money for the crowd favorite award. Encourage family and friends to bring a few extra bucks!! Dresses/Attire PAGEANT DRESSES All pageant dresses need to be appropriate for middle school students. Please be mindful of any splits in the front or the back of the dresses. Make sure that the back of the dress is not entirely out, and that the front midsection of the dress is not too low or revealing. If you have any questions about a particular dress, you can email a picture of the dress to Mrs. Freeman at stacyfreeman@jefcoed.com. Remember, if you are in doubt, email a picture of the dress before you rent or purchase it. Also, if you need help finding a dress and you are interested in renting, ask other students who were in the pageant last year or let Mrs. Freeman know that you are looking for a dress.
