Study is the second sign of a Dynamic Catholic.
Be a
continuous learner and consider reading just 5 pages a day of a good Catholic
Book, and you will read 1825 pages in a year.
One example of a book that we have at both churches (St. Mary and St.
Robert side door(s) facing the Rectory) is “NINE WORDS” by Allen Hunt
LOVE * JOY* PEACE* PATIENCE* KINDNESS* GENEROSITY* FAITHFULNESS* GENTLENESS* SELF-CONTROL
Nobody grows up wanting to lead a meaningless or unsatisfying life. No one yearns to be incomplete or frustrated
or to lack a destiny or purpose. Who would want that? Deep within each of us, God has planted the desire to be
the best-version-of-yourselves. God has a dream for your life. And His dream for you is unique. Only you are you.
Nine words best describe the-best-version-of-yourself®. St. Paul shares nine words in his letter to the Galatians.
These nine words provide the blueprint to your destiny, the dream God has for your life.
This simple study will help you dive, in real ways, into God’s dream for your life in order to become the-bestversion-of-yourself®.

Be a continuous
learner and consider listening just 10 minutes a day to a good Catholic CD.
One example of a CD that we have at both churches (St. Mary and St. Robert
side door(s) facing the Rectory) is
“I’m Not Being Fed, Discovering the Food that Satisfies the Soul” by Jeff Cavins
Jeff Cavins talks about “the number one eating disorder in the Catholic Church.” He explores and responds to some
of the reasons why he and so many people have left the Catholic Church for evangelical Christianity.
One complaint among Catholics is that people say they are “not being fed” by the Catholic Church. People who say
this do not know what the Eucharist is. In John 6:32 and following, Jesus tells them what this is all about. He says “I
am the bread of life.” Jesus says, “My flesh is true food.” Jeff left the Church because he felt he wasn’t being fed.
But the Eucharist, Jesus’ own flesh, is the food we receive in the Eucharist at Mass. Jeff came back to the Catholic
Church based on Scripture, its teaching, but – most of all – the Eucharist is the element that brought him back to
the Church.
As he presents the story of his return to Catholicism, Cavins also builds a case for why the Catholic Church is the
Church founded by Christ.
