June 3rd, 2015!
Would you like to invest a small amount of your time and make a difference in the lives of
students? Junior Achievement and Kingsbury Elementary School are joining together to host a
JA in a Day event on June 3rd, 2015. Your support means everything in making this JA event
successful!
Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about
workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on
programs. The program curriculum is economics and business for students in grades K-5.

Ourselves (K) introduces the economic role of individuals
Our Families (1st) discusses the role of families in the local economy
Our Community (2nd) examines opportunities available to those within a community
Our City (3rd) considers economic development, local businesses and career opportunities
Our Region (4th) features economic and business resources in state and regional economies
Our Nation (5th) provides practical information about businesses’ need for individuals who can
meet the demands of the job market, including high-growth, high-demand jobs
JA provides the materials and the training; all you have to do is to provide your time and a hot
lunch is provided. This is a unique approach to teaching students about the way that
businesses work, and a chance for you to feel good about spending time with students. Keep in
mind the teacher is in the classroom with you at all times and will lend support as needed.
