,m Welcome to a wonderful new school year!! We had a GREAT summer with your children, as we have made new memories to last a life time. It feels as though we just had our annual summer kick off picnic, yet we’ve experienced art week, pirate’s adventure week, music and theatre week with a visit from Spinning Straw Puppetry Company, wacky science week, sports week, animal week with Curious Creatures, and a fun carnival week!! We had a wonderful time during “Children around the World Week”, as we learned about Japan from Miss Missy, Canada from Miss Sonny, Puerto Rico from Miss Elana and Miss Sinead. Then we explored the Philippines with Mrs. Ulan, Zachary’s mom. The school age children visited Percival Pool quite a lot, helped run our trike-a-thon for charity, went bowling/laser tagging, visited The Children’s Museum, saw the Rock Cats game, had a hay ride at 4H Farm and made ice cream, and finally explored sea life at Schooner Sound!! Phew!!!! We ended the summer with a carnival on Friday, and could not have had a better time!! Our teachers are excited to get back into a more structured routine and have been cleaning and organizing the rooms to get ready for our pre-school programs. We have some exciting things planned with both field trips and in house visitors. Paul Recker from the former Peanut Butter Jam album will be performing here for you and your children on Sept. 21st at 7p.m. We have a trip to Minor’s Farm in Bristol on Oct. 2nd, where we will have hay ride to a pumpkin patch, choose a pumpkin, jump in a pleather of moon walks, play on a huge wooden train, then the trip will conclude with donut holes and juice on the farm. We’ll visit the 4 H Farm on October 17th, where we will enjoy a hay ride through the apple orchards, pick apples and return to the pavilion to make cider. We are hosting an open house and hope you will come to explore the classrooms, and speak to the teachers while your children have their faces painted and enjoy yummy snacks. We will invite you to join us for open discussion meetings with our Education Consultant, Nutritionist, and our Health Consultant regarding your children, their development and issues associated with it. There is much, much more to come, as we will announce the dates in future newsletters PEBBLES Miss Molly is majoring in Nursing and has been an early childhood teacher for several years. We will emphasize classroom rules together, and explore the autumn seasonal changes that are about to occur, and infuse this into our preschool program! As the new school year progresses, we will learn the alphabet, the different sounds, and practice writing the letters as well as recognizing each other’s names as a pre-reading exercise.
