The rise of strong delusion.
2 Thessalonians 2:9–12
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all
power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish,
because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should
believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
Romans 1:18–25
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has
shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and
Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were
thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were
darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like
corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of
their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the
creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

2015 Prophecy Update 1
 Universities, Colleges, High Schools and Jr Highs teach Evolution as
Fact
 Caitlyn Jenner
 Islam is a good and peaceful religion
 Climate change is more dangerous than jihadists – in fact it is the
major reason for Terrorism today;
 Israel will always be the bad guy and the Palestinians are the new
heroes of the American/European progressive/secular culture today;
 ISIS isn't Islam?
 Iran will fight with us against ISIS?
 Muslim refugees are all peaceful and will help the Western world.
 Those immigrating from Muslim countries are just Widows and
Orphans, displaced by war and poverty.
Where can we find true TRUTH?
Psalm 119:160 The entirety of Your word is truth,
And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.
John 17:14–19
14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are
not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should
keep them from the evil one.
16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
“Overcomers”:
 Repeated in each of 7 letters to the churches: (Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26;
3:5, 12, 21)
o “To him that overcomes . . .”
 “The true Christian in any local assembly learns quickly that
conversion is not the end of the Christian experience; it is
not the beginning of an easy life with out trials and
opposition.”
 Who really are “overcomers”?
o Inner circle of victorious Christians?
 Everyone in church?
o Based on feelings?
 Facebook has taught us to rely on everyone else’s feelings
about us before we accept that it could be true.
o Church is a place of different groups:
 Sinners already made righteous by the Blood of Jesus
 Far majority of our church
 Sinners who NEED TO BE MADE RIGHTEOUS BY JESUS
 Hopefully we have those yet to receive Christ as Savior.
 Fathers vs. young men vs. little children
1 John 2:13
I write to you, fathers,
. . . I write to you, young men,
. . . I write to you, little children,
 Are the “overcomers” the more “spiritual” among believers?
o Scriptures teach that there are rewards for Christian work.
o “to him that overcomes . . .”
 Singular noun
 Jesus knew that in every church there would be those who would
simply refuse the promises to inherit eternal life.
 ALL believers can be “Overcomers”
o Christianity has always been a mixture of true believers and
false professors.





Smyrna: synagogue of Satan
Pergamos: doctrine of Balaam & Nicolaitans
Thyatira: Jezebel
Sardis: spiritually dead believers
Laodicea: a church that is wretched, miserable, poor and naked
o Unbelievers among believers:
 Tares with the wheat
 Goats with the sheep
 Darkness with the light
o “Overcomers” simply “believe”

 To trust, to adhere to, and to have faith in.”

1 John 5:4-5
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is
the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that
Jesus is the Son of God?
o Not a mere rhetorical question, but an appeal to experience and fact.
Note the present active articular participle (νικων [nikōn]) like νικᾳ
[nikāi] (present active indicative in verse 4), “the one who keeps on
conquering the world.”

o “The overcomer is not the one who claims never to be overcome,
but one who must overcome at last because he is Christ’s”!
Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through
Him who loved us.
Ephesus – the church that ended us just “liking” Jesus
Revelation 2:7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life,
which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’
Smyrna – the poor church with many difficulties
Revelation 2:11 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’
Pergamos – the rich church that sold out to the world
Revelation 2:17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to
eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which
no one knows except him who receives it.” ’
Thyatira – the sexually immoral church
Revelation 2:26–27
26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will
give power over the nations—

Sardis – the denominational follower

Philadelphia – the church with great opportunities

heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
Laodiceans – the lukewarm, wealthy church that won’t take a stand
Revelation 3:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Jesus has a plan for every Christian attending the best and worst churches.
