Speeches
Crystal Moran: Has been elected as VP by committee and society. With Tim leaving
Crystal believes she should step up to the role. She has been here for a year and has
worked in all the different dimensions of NUTS. Does not want a rivalry or contest to
arise, but believes that all will be okay. Worked hard as an ARC delegate. Has a
strong diplomatic side. Has already been doing a lot of stuff that people don’t get to
see. George Lazaris asked how many Studio One shows Crystal has done. The answer
was 3. Also directed, written and produced with her college. Chris Booker asked what
Crystal would like to do with NUTS. Outlined the different ways of doing shows in
different venues. Maybe even outside. Connections with SUDS.

Dominic Foffani: 3rd year COFA. Bachelor of Arts/Fine Arts. Dom sees NUTS as a
business, with a lot of money, which we can use to our benefit. Especially to connect
with COFA and ARC. Dom’s involvement with NUTS, he didn’t do much in first
year, but was VP of Bike Club, and started with exotic beer society. Last year was
secretary of exotic beer and still VP of Bike Club. Became involved in NUTS shows.
Believes he can direct NUTS towards what they could be. Connecting NUTS with a
plethora of theatres and theatre groups. Dom knows he can’t do it all by himself, he
knows that he needs the support of the committee. He has the people skills, and can
stay connected. Has the role of publicity officer and was nominated for VP, but
declined. He wants a bit more say in what he can do. Millie Simes asked what he
could do as president that he can’t do as publicity. Dom answered that he could have a
bit more control, and it would make it much easier to liaise with other people. Jules
Kelly asked about Dom trying to connect to these theatres, and voiced that they
preferred to talk to publicity officers rather than presidents. Dom says that it would
take the committee as a team to gain these connections that we want. He would
consult the committee to get what we want out of these theatres. Dom would prefer to
be behind the scenes. Dom has not been a part of any Studio One shows, aside from
all the help with Bump-ins/outs. Kylie Upton asked what Dom did for Aida. He was
part of the cast, and he also took the reins with the set construction and design. It
looked awesome and was completed pretty close to on time. Megan Stein asked how
Dom will make up his lack of time with Studio One. Dom relies on the committee to
get him through these situations and to help him in every aspect of working with
Studio One. Ryan Fogwell asked about the cliquey nature of NUTS. Dom stated how
the committee has talked about this many times. NUTS is a club, a business, and we
are the executive. These roles should not be tarnished by personal relationships we
have with the society members of NUTS. The relationships can be handled better.
Mim Clarke asked what Dom has done for the committee since he has been there. He
has designed and created a new website that is immensely better than the last one,
with the help of Kylie Upton and Mim Clarke. Kylie Upton, Mim Clarke, Dom
Foffani, and Leon Huxtable, helped clean and organise the costume room. It is now
awesome. Rachel Morton asked how Dom will get more people involved in NUTS.
Dom stated that the one on one rapport is what it should be built upon, not through
emails. We should have more social events, open to the public, rather than just the
society. One on one contact between NUTS and the rest of the world. We will find a
way to get them along. Millie Simes asked why Dom cannot do this in his current role
as publicity. Dom stated that publicity is great for O-Week, but it lacks the hands-on
stuff that Dom wants to have. You have a say on committee and you have the votes,
but you don’t have what Dom is looking for. Tim Green interjected on whether these
questions were valid towards the election of president.
Tim Green stated that he would be proud for either of them to be in the president role.
They have both done so much for the society already.
Voting time begins. Non-NUTS members cannot vote.
Votes were counted and there was a short break at 6:28pm.
Break ended at 6:36pm.

The new president is Crystal Moran.
Position for Arc Delegate is now available. Crystal Moran outlines the role of Arc
delegate.
Kylie Upton nominated Tim Green. Dom Foffani seconded. Tim Green declined.
George Lazaris nominated Megan Stein. Seconded by Michelle Kopac. Megan
accepted.
Cam Brown nominated Matt Todd. Mim Clarke seconded. Matt accepted.
Jules Kelly nominated Gemma Clinch. Shannan Ely seconded. Respectfully declined
by Gemma.
Dom nominated D-Train Dobson. Liss seconded. He declined.
Tom Sinden nominated Millie Simes. Chris Booker seconded. Millie accepted.
Speeches for Arc Delegate. Megan, Matt Todd, Millie Simes.
Questions for Megan: Millie asked how many Studio One shows. She has done many.
Kylie asked what she has done with Arc. She has not done anything directly, aside
from within societies. Dom asked about Megan running for multiple roles at previous
meetings, and why Megan thinks she will be great as Arc delegate. She believes she
has the skills to deal with Arc, especially filling out grants.
Questions for Matt Todd: Jules asked if Matt is involved with Revues this year. He is
not. Millie asked how much involvement Matt has had with Arc. He has had quite a
bit of experience with Arc for societies. George asked why Matt wants to be Arc
delegate, rather than just on the committee. Matt has dealt with the grants and forms
before, and he thinks that it is arduous, but it is necessary and beneficial. Chris
Booker asked about Matt’s other roles. Organisational committee for revues, secretary
for Studio 4.
Questions for Millie Simes: Kylie asked if Millie has applied for Arc grants before.
She has not. Asked about roles on the executive or committee, and she did not receive
any this year. Dom asked whether Millie was more suited for the social role coming
up. Millie feels she sounds better on paper and doesn’t have the people skills required
for that.
Votes are being taken. Number them 1-3. 1 being the person you want the most. 3
being the person you want the least.
The new Arc delegate is Millie Simes.
4. Business without notice
Bank signatories. We would like it to not be people that live in a house together.
Proposed Crystal, Kylie, and Dom. Voted affirmative. Motion passed.
Tim thanked the committee. It was nice.
Kylie let the society know what we have been doing recently. We have been
archiving, and we have found all the awesome involvement with other groups from
past years. We are getting our name in the CPRU newsletter. Proposals should come
from everywhere.
Meeting closed 7:30pm.
