BRANCH AND SECTION OVERVIEW
The Service Delivery Branch is responsible for the scheduling and delivery of a range of work
requirements which ensure the ongoing daily efficient functioning of ActewAGL’s electricity supply
network.
The Lines OH & UG (Planned) Maintenance Section of the Service Delivery Branch manages the
delivery of commercially competitive, effective and efficient planned overhead (‘OH’) and
underground (‘UG’) network maintenance, as programmed by the Works Enablement Branch. The
Section’s execution of the programmed maintenance activities ensures that the infrastructure is
maintained to required standards. The Section’s work activities include pole and line inspection,
pole and line maintenance and repair/replacement, and vegetation management. The Section is
headed by the Lines OH & UG (Planned) Maintenance Manager, one of five Section Heads who
reports to the Branch Manager, Service Delivery.
Your duty to your employer includes an obligation to carry out your work in a way that does not put
ActewAGL in breach of any legislative or regulatory obligations. ActewAGL will have responsibility to
provide suitable training and to make you aware of the legal obligations relevant to your work.
Under the ActewAGL Always Safe system, this position is required to participate fully in all aspects of
health, safety and environment management within ActewAGL, including risk assessment, hazard
identification and control and incident reporting.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is one of several Vegetation Inspection positions reporting to the Vegetation Works
Coordinator. Through good planning and people management, the Vegetation Inspector’s role is
accountable for the effective inspection of ActewAGL’s electricity network, so that inspections are
recorded and completed in accordance with ActewAGL’s ongoing inspection program.

ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
The Vegetation Inspector is responsible for inspection of ActewAGL assets, identifying vegetation
issues and arranging clearing as required. The role exists to provide a coordinated approach to the
planning, administration and execution of vegetation program, with a focus on customer and
contractor relations to provide efficient utilisation of planned outages.

RESPONSIBILITIES
For all Vegetation Inspection positions
 Work to schedules to meet inspection program
 Conduct quality inspections both initial and follow up inspections
 Communicate with customers
 Utilise IT and other technologies in the workplace to achieve efficiencies
 Assist in identifying improved work practices
 Implement improved work practices to provide efficiencies
 Provide daily work reports to record work activities
 Manage Vegetation Contractors
 Promote and maintain ActewAGL’s corporate image and fulfil customer expectation
 Identify and control hazards
 Provide reports on work in progress and work completed
 Develop and implement strategies to improve performance/resource utilisation
 Manage leave/training for optimal work output
 Participate in the Personal Performance and Development Plan (PPDP) process
 Participate in the performance reviews
 Participate and attend work group meetings
For this specific Vegetation Inspector position
 Manage customer/user enquiries
 Communicate and implement ActewAGL’s HSE policy and procedures
 Model exemplary behaviour in respect of safety, quality, and work culture
 Develop and maintain good working relationships with other Vegetation Inspectors and
Electrical Operators within the section and across the Branch
 Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and contractors
 Improve efficiency of resource utilisation and quality of customer service by improving outage
utilisation and avoiding outage cancellations/rescheduling
