Position Description Title: Position Number: Classification: Division: Branch: Section: Vegetation Inspector 5411, 3478 EW 4 Network Services Service Delivery Lines OH & UG (Planned) Maintenance Manager Reports to: Lines OH & UG (Planned) Maintenance Manager BRANCH AND SECTION OVERVIEW The Service Delivery Branch is responsible for the scheduling and delivery of a range of work requirements which ensure the ongoing daily efficient functioning of ActewAGL’s electricity supply network. The Lines OH & UG (Planned) Maintenance Section of the Service Delivery Branch manages the delivery of commercially competitive, effective and efficient planned overhead (‘OH’) and underground (‘UG’) network maintenance, as programmed by the Works Enablement Branch. The Section’s execution of the programmed maintenance activities ensures that the infrastructure is maintained to required standards. The Section’s work activities include pole and line inspection, pole and line maintenance and repair/replacement, and vegetation management. The Section is headed by the Lines OH & UG (Planned) Maintenance Manager, one of five Section Heads who reports to the Branch Manager, Service Delivery. POSITION OVERVIEW This position is one of several Vegetation Inspection positions reporting to the Vegetation Works Coordinator. Through good planning and people management, the Vegetation Inspector’s role is accountable for the effective inspection of ActewAGL’s electricity network, so that inspections are recorded and completed in accordance with ActewAGL’s ongoing inspection program. The role exists to provide a coordinated approach to the planning, administration and execution of vegetation program, with a focus on customer and contractor relations to provide efficient utilisation of planned outages.
