Doubling Numbers
WALT recognise doubles of numbers
This week we have been learning what doubling is and how to work out double of a number. We
have been learning the language associated with this, for example: what is double 2? Double 2 is
4. We have also been writing the number sentence to represent this: 2+2=4. We have been using
a variety of methods to help us including using our fingers to count two lots of numbers, counting
on and using objects to count out.
Enclosed is a board game for you to play to practice doubling numbers. You will need a dice and
some counters to play this game. If you don’t have a dice, write numbers up to 6 on paper and
pick them at random. The object of the game is to work out the sum for the square you land on.
Please return by Thursday 5th February 2015.
Phonics
This week we will be learning the following sounds: ee, oo, ai, oa.
