Université Sainte-Anne has been in
existence for more than a century.
Sainte-Anne is the only Francophone
university in Nova Scotia. In 2015, it
celebrated its 125th anniversary. The University is well known throughout Canada and
the United States for its French immersion programs and French Second Language

In 2003, the University amalgamated with College de l’Acadie and now boasts five

of the province while satellite campuses are located in Halifax (Walnut Street), Petit-deGrat (Isle Madame) and St-Joseph-du-Moine (near Cheticamp) on Cape Breton and
Tusket (about 10 kilometers from Yarmouth).
Université Sainte-Anne offers both University and College level programs. At the

Commerce, Acadian and Canadian Studies; a B.Ed. and a Master’s degree in French

College level programs include certificates and diplomas in the fields of business,
education and primary healthcare.
The French Adult Education program ( FGA ) is offered at all five Université SainteAnne campuses and follows the same guidelines and principles as its English
counterpart, though there are several differences.

The learning format is Tutor Directed Self-Learning. All the FGA courses have
been developed in module format in order to accommodate this learning style.

The French program includes Levels 2, 3 and 4

credits must be completed in French.

There is no tuition for FGA students but there is a small fee (66$) for books and
materials.

communities with as wide a range of university, college and adult education level
