Université Sainte-Anne www.usainteanne.ca Université Sainte-Anne has been in existence for more than a century. Sainte-Anne is the only Francophone university in Nova Scotia. In 2015, it celebrated its 125th anniversary. The University is well known throughout Canada and the United States for its French immersion programs and French Second Language training. In 2003, the University amalgamated with College de l’Acadie and now boasts five campuses. The main campus is in Church Point, Clare County in the Southwestern part of the province while satellite campuses are located in Halifax (Walnut Street), Petit-deGrat (Isle Madame) and St-Joseph-du-Moine (near Cheticamp) on Cape Breton and Tusket (about 10 kilometers from Yarmouth). Université Sainte-Anne offers both University and College level programs. At the University level, it offers BA degrees with majors in French, English, History, Commerce, Acadian and Canadian Studies; a B.Ed. and a Master’s degree in French education; a B.Sc/B.Ed.; Business and Commerce degrees and a co-operative BBA program. In the science and health fields, the University offers programs in Pre-med and Pre-veterinary, a three year Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Social Services. College level programs include certificates and diplomas in the fields of business, education and primary healthcare. The French Adult Education program ( FGA ) is offered at all five Université SainteAnne campuses and follows the same guidelines and principles as its English counterpart, though there are several differences. The learning format is Tutor Directed Self-Learning. All the FGA courses have been developed in module format in order to accommodate this learning style. The French program includes Levels 2, 3 and 4 www.literacyns.ca The French program also offers adults with a High School diploma the possibility of upgrading their High School credits. In order to receive the French High School adult diploma, the required language credits must be completed in French. Our Adult Education Division has recently developed several new courses including French 11 & 12 Graduate and Oceans 12 Academic. The University has also translated the English 4 graduate math program as well as several math modules. There is no tuition for FGA students but there is a small fee (66$) for books and materials. Université Saint-Anne strives to accommodate learners from mostly Acadian rural communities with as wide a range of university, college and adult education level courses and services as possible. www.literacyns.ca
