Dr. Lawrence Gray Attends Aesthetic Surgery Symposium
Face, Breast and Facial Fillers
Miami, Florida, February 14th-16th, 2013–Dr. Lawrence N. Gray of Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center attended
the 47th Annual Baker Gordon Educational Symposium, an important yearly event offering valuable
educational opportunities to board certified plastic surgeons. This three-day, attended by plastic
surgeons from many countries around the world, had numerous course offerings on face breast and
facial fillers. The conference was sponsored by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons
and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and was endorsed by the American Society of
Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Plastic Surgeons. Faculty included leading plastic
surgeons from across the United States.
This aesthetic surgery symposium had numerous educational objectives. Attendees listened and
participated in group discussions on the advancements and differences in Botox Cosmetic, Dysport and
Xeomin, currently available. It explains in depth the subtleties and artistic concepts required to use
facial fat repositioning along with volumetric (filler) enhancement in face lift procedures. Methods for
correction of secondary deformities in the re-operative breast augmentation patient were examined at
length.
Breast Implant selection with careful consideration of physique or body type and soft tissue envelope
or receptacle in the new breast augmentation patient was presented by plastic surgical faculty and
discussed in group format. Extensive discussion also took place on the approach to rejuvenation around
the eyes,
which improves blending where the eyelids meet the cheeks. Finally, academic presentation with
regard to changes in facial shape with facial aging and the significance of the facial fat created much
lively discussion and excitement.
The conference also offered live procedures for viewing including facelifts, necklifts, eyelid lifts
featuring fat preservation, brow lifts, limited incision mastectomy, a MACS facelift, endoscopic
browlift, superficial cheek lift, rhinoplasty, breast reduction with mastopexy, abdomiplasty and
abdominal liposuction and a circumferential thigh lift.
