FALL 2011 SCHOLARSHIPS - Application Deadline: October 28th, 2011 MPI-Texas Hill Country Chapter members may be eligible for one of the following scholarships offered by the chapter. To apply, please complete the Scholarship Application and submit by October 28th, 2011. All applications will be evaluated on a point system (explanation attached to application form). Recipients will be notified by November 4, 2011, names will be announced in Hill Country Spotlight Newsletter. Applicants may choose from one of the following options: Texas Education Conference (TEC) - Award Amount: up to $300 This scholarship award will include complimentary registration for TEC and up to $150 toward travel/hotel expenses; related to participation/attendance at TEC. Recipient(s) will need to complete a TEC registration form and provide the scholarship committee with travel receipt copies for reimbursement. Supplier Renewal - Award Amount: $100 This scholarship award will be awarded to suppliers specifically to ensure that the increase in membership dues does not prevent them from being part of MPI-THCC. Recipient(s) will need to submit their membership renewal to MPI HQ and provide the scholarship committee with receipt copies for reimbursement of $100. MPI Membership Renewal or Chapter Participation Assistance - Award Amount: up to $350 This scholarship will be awarded to members that show a confirmed economic hardship (like unemployment or employer does not reimburse for MPI dues or participation). If award recipient chooses to use their scholarship toward membership renewal; they are responsible for providing a dues payment receipt to the Scholarship Committee, payment will be processed as a reimbursement. If the recipient chooses to use their scholarship for on-going chapter event registration/participation; up to (6) future chapter events with registration fees totally no more than $350 will be provided at no out of pocket expense for the recipient. CMP Study Group and/or Exam Registration or CMM Registration assistance - Award Amount: up to $450 This scholarship will be awarded to eligible members who are studying for or testing for the CMP certification or CMM designation for the first time. Recipient is responsible for providing a completed copy of the CMP study group registration or CMP exam registration form to the scholarship committee, for payment to be processed as a reimbursement. Recipient is responsible for all other costs associated with participating in the study group or exam. ***PLEASE READ*** IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicant must be an active member in the MPI - Texas Hill Country Chapter for one year, at the time of application and award. Members will not be eligible to apply if they have been a recipient of a MPI-THCC Scholarship award in the past 24 months. Recipients have 24 months to use scholarship funds; after 24 months; funds are no longer available. See page 5 for an explanation of the scholarship points rating system and the minimum points required in each category to qualify for consideration as a scholarship winner. The point system for rating scholarship applications is listed below with the maximum points an applicant can earn in each category.
