THE QUEEN’S HAT
By Rachel Leach
The queen wears gloves
For shaking all those hands
She always wears a dress
Never trousers
She always smiles and waves
Never frowns, never moans
But did you ever see the queen without her hat?
The queen loves dogs
Yapping a her ankles
The queen loves horses
She makes a bet or two
The queen loves her job
She’s been doing it for years
But did you ever see the queen without her hat?
Big hats, small hats
Short hats, tall hats
Red, green, yellow and lavender blue
England has a queen and while ever it does
You will never see the queen without her hat
You will never see the queen without her hat
Never
Never
Never without her hat!
CATCH THAT HAT
By Rachel Leach
All the queen’s horses
And all the queen’s men
The butlers, the servants and the maids
The cleaners, the footmen and all the bodyguards
All stop what they’re doing and say…
Catch that hat!
Bring it back
Put it on the royal head again
Run, walk, swim
Do anything
Put it on her head before it rains
The cook stops her cake
The gardener stops his rake
The chauffeur takes his foot off the brake
Catch that hat!
Bring it back
Put it on the royal head again
Run, walk, swim
Do anything
Put it on her head before it rains
Catch that hat
Catch that…
Hat!
