SILP LEAD REVIEWER COURSE
SILP is a learning model which engages
frontline staff and their managers in
reviewing cases, focussing on why
those involved acted in a certain way.
It follows a systems methodology,
looking at those factors in the system
which influenced the way events
unfolded. SILP also highlights what is
working well and patterns of good
practice.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course will expand and update
areas covered in the SILP Lead
Reviewer Training, including areas such
as the changes in Working Together to
Safeguard
Children
2015
and
Safeguarding Adult Reviews. It will deal
with our latest innovation to the model,
MALP, and will include troubleshooting
around issues that have arisen in SILP
Reviews over the last year, offering
practical
advice
on
case
management.
Accredited SILP Lead Reviewers are
required to undertake refresher training
on an annual basis in order to maintain
their accreditation.
This refresher training aims to keep our
Lead
Reviewers
updated
with
innovations in practice and in the
model as well as developments
affecting case reviews.
Importantly, it will also provide an
opportunity for those who commission
or are involved in SILP Case Reviews to
improve their knowledge of the model
and how it is being used.
