IT’S OUR WALES – LET’S LOOK AFTER IT! POSTER COMPETITION NOTES FOR TEACHERS 1. Many thanks to you and all your pupils for taking part in this poster competition. 2. The Welsh Government is developing a new law to ensure we look after Wales’ environment and its natural resources and we need your help. 3. Design a colourful poster about what you get from your local environment and you could win up to £250 in vouchers for your school’s Eco-Committee. 4. Remember that we’re looking for colourful entries from pupils that highlight how our natural resources such as clean air, clean water from rivers and seas, and healthy soils for plants, flowers, trees and crops all contribute to make Wales a special place. 5. To help us judge what we hope will be a great response from schools all across Wales, please send in only what you consider to be the two best entries from your school. If we decide that one of the posters from your school is a winning entry, reasonable expenses will be offered to enable the pupil (and a teacher and parent/guardian) to travel to the awards ceremony in Cardiff Bay on 27 April 2015. 6. Entries can be submitted in Welsh, English or bilingually. Please send them to: Poster Competition Climate Change & Natural Resource Policy Team 1st Floor, East Core Welsh Government Cathays Park Cardiff CF10 3NQ 7. To highlight all your pupils’ efforts, you might like to send us a high-resolution photo displaying a gallery of all the posters designed at your school. Please send the images to CC&NRM@wales.gsi.gov.uk in jpg format only – any other format will result in your photo being bounced back. Please obtain the necessary clearances from parents before sending in the images. 8. The prizes for the best posters will be: 1st prize - £250 2nd prize - £150 3rd prize - £100 9.
