Situation report in the contest of Cyclone “Hud Hud”
12.10.2014, 21 hrs.
1. As per latest information, 168541 people have been evacuated from 9
(Nine) districts namely Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Malkanagiri, Rayagada,
Nabarangpur, Puri, Kendrapara and Khordha districts. The people
evacuated have been placed in 1706 safe Shelters. Free kitchen and dry
food like flattened rice, gur, drinking water and lighting arrangement have
been organized for them in the shelters.
2. Wind: Wind speed of about 40-50 kmph is now felt in Koaraput and
Malkangiri districts and wind speed of 30-40 kmph is felt in Rayagada,
Ganjam & Gajapati districts.
3. Rainfall: Presently heavy rainfall is being experienced in the districts of
Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada & Malkanagiri districts.
4. The sea is rough and high tides are seen at many places.
