The frame of the chair is constructed from aluminum,
which is mined and requires a lot of energy and
electricity to turn it form bauxite into workable
metal. The plastics are made from oil which is
environmentally damaging
Both chairs incorporate aluminum into the frame but the red chair
uses non recycle-able foam for its padding, the think chair (blue
one) uses the a better foam that can be recycled into the foam
under your carpet.

requires a chemical reaction process to produce the foam for the
seat.

Waste: The foam will not be re-cycle able but the aluminum
could be extracted from the chair once used and melted
down to make soda cans or other aluminum products.
