FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 24, 2012 ALLEN STONE KICKS OFF FALL HEADLINE TOUR TONIGHT AT WORLD CAFÉ LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA Run Includes Sept. 25 & 26 Shows At NYC’s Highline Ballroom Allen Stone launches an extensive North American headline tour tonight with a show at Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live. He will play Highline Ballroom in New York City this Tuesday and Wednesday, September 25 and 26. Through a partnership with The Keep A Breast Foundation™ (http://keep-a-breast.org), fifty cents from every ticket sold on the tour (including pre-sales and ticket bundles) will go directly to the organization. Stone will kick off a European tour with Tingsek on November 21 in London. He will return to the States for a hometown show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA on December 7. See below for itinerary. The 25-year-old soul singer from Chewelah, WA recently won mtvU's Fall 2012 "Freshman 5" competition, which asked viewers to vote on five up-and-coming artists primed to jump from campus favorites to household names. Fans can see Allen performing his latest single, “Sleep,” on “Late Show with David Letterman” at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifsJzi9XUJc Stone released his self-titled album digitally via his own stickystones label last fall and it quickly entered the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and the Top 5 of iTunes’ R&B/Soul charts. Performances on “Conan,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Call with Carson Daly” and “Live from Daryl’s House” followed and Esquire, CNN and Billboard named Stone as an artist to watch – all before he had signed with a label. ATO Records gave the album its wide release in July 2012. “With his tangle of blond locks and lumberjack sweater, he looks less like a soul singer and more like someone you’d find selling hemp necklaces in Big Sur. But soon hundreds of slack-jawed hipsters have sheathed their smartphones to listen as he belts out the words to his song ‘Unaware,’” said Forbes.com. The New York Times’ Jon Pareles noted: “his music reached back four decades to the late 1960s and early ’70s, when songwriters like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway and Bill Withers brought introspection and social commentary to soul music.” “Stone's beautiful music has universal appeal,” said the Chicago Tribune while the LA Weekly declared: “he's the real deal.” Allen Stone - Upcoming Tour Dates Fall 2012 9/24 9/25 9/26 9/27 9/28 9/29 10/1 10/2 10/3 10/4 10/5 10/6 10/7 10/9 10/10 10/11 10/12 10/13 10/14 10/16 10/17 10/19 10/20 10/21 10/24 10/25 10/26 10/27 10/30 10/31 11/1 11/2 11/3 11/4 11/7 11/10 11/11 11/13 11/14 11/15 11/16 11/21 11/22 11/23 11/24 11/26 11/27 11/28 11/29 Philadelphia, PA New York, NY New York, NY Washington, DC Baltimore, MD Charlottesville, VA Virginia Beach, VA Charlotte, NC Nashville, TN Atlanta, GA Tampa, FL Columbia, MD Fort Lauderdale, FL Birmingham, AL Mobile, AL New Orleans, LA Austin, TX Houston, TX Dallas, TX Scottsdale, AZ Solana Beach, CA Los Angeles, CA Chico, CA San Francisco, CA Portland, OR Portland, OR Spokane, WA Vancouver, BC Salt Lake City, UT Boulder, CO Omaha, NE Minneapolis, MN Des Moines, IA Lawrence, KS Milwaukee, WI Columbus, OH Cleveland, OH Ferndale, MI Toronto, ON Montreal, QC Portland, ME London, UK Manchester, UK Dublin, IE Glasgow, UK Amsterdam, NL Copenhagen, DK Stockholm, SE Hamburg, DE World Cafe Live Highline Ballroom Highline Ballroom 9:30 Club Baltimore Soundstage Jefferson Theater The Jewish Mother Visulite Theatre The Cannery Ballroom The Loft The Orpheum Virgin Mobile FreeFest Culture Room WorkPlay Theatre Alabama Music Box House of Blues Parish Antone’s Scout Bar Trees Martini Ranch Belly Up Tavern The Music Box El Rey Theatre Great American Music Hall Mississippi Studios Mississippi Studios Knitting Factory Concert House Vogue Theatre The Complex – The Grand Fox Theatre The Waiting Room Fine Line Music Café Wooly’s Granada Theater Turner Hall The Basement Beachland Ballroom The Magic Bag The Opera House Cabaret du Mile-End Port City Music Hall Cargo The Ruby Lounge Sugar Club Classic Grand Melkweg The Max Ideal Bar - Vega Debaser Midis Klubsen 11/30 12/1 12/3 12/4 12/7 Berlin, DE Zurich, CH Ghent, BE Paris, FR Seattle, WA Bohannon Soulclub Eldorado Handelsbeurs La Maroquinerie Paramount Theatre ### For additional information on ALLEN STONE, contact: Ambrosia Healy, The Fun Star ambrosia@thefunstar.com Erin Cooney, The Fun Star erin@thefunstar.com or visit: http://www.allenstone.com http://www.facebook.com/allenstone http://www.twitter.com/allen_stone Press materials can be downloaded at: http://thefunstar.com/
