World-Renowned Aerial Photographer to Speak at Balloon Museum Former photographer speaks about his world travels Albuquerque, NM – Albuquerque Balloon Museum is pleased to invite the public to a special presentation with internationally-known aerial photographer Jay Miller. Miller’s presentation will focus on his expertise and experience in the field of aerial photography that will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Co-founder of the International Society for Aviation Photography, Miller has accrued over 40 years of professional experience as an author, consultant, and publisher of all things aviation. He is also the recipient of a number of prestigious awards such as the 2000 George E. Haddaway Award for Contributions to Aviation, the 2005 Harry Combs Award, and the AWA National Award for Aviation. Although he is not currently a licensed pilot, Miller has flown in over 70 different types of aircraft, and even owned a Cessna 120 at one point in his life. Miller’s enthusiasm for aviation reaches far beyond the cockpit as he recently completed a very auspicious aviation and aerospace reference library. The library itself consists of 90,000 plus periodicals, over 700,000 images, and 7, 500 books that date back as far as 1765 in addition to tons of hardware and artifacts. The entire collection was acquired by the Aerospace Education Center in Little Rock, Arkansas and today serves as the core research library for the entire institution. In addition to being a photographer for Nikon and a movie/film script writer/producer for the “Wings” series, Miller is a wellknown figure in the U.S. aerospace community, and will be on hand to discuss his life’s work and to provide a greater insight into aerial photography.
