UMass Civic Engagement & Service-Learning Awards 11 CESL Faculty Fellowships
Eleven UMass faculty members have been awarded fellowships by UMass CESL to develop ServiceLearning and Civic Engagement courses which connect academic, civic and personal
learning by collaborating with local organizations to advance both the course learning
objectives and community identified goals.

The fellowship program, now in its 21st year, is co-facilitated by Carol Soules, Associate Director of
UMass CESL and Professor Ellen Pader, Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning. The
program is partially funded by a Vision Project grant from the Massachusetts Department of
Higher Education.
