Organize and conduct the planning, managing, and performing of the reference and information services department’s goals
vision and mission statements
Organize, create and maintain the monthly reference desk schedules for supervising one-three reference and instruction
librarians in the Information Service Department.
Supervise three- seven the student workers/ graduate student workers and create their reference desk schedules and hire
student workers for the Reference Information Services Department
Teach, develop and organize library information literacy classes to ten (10) liaison areas (Main Campus- College of
Education; College of Agriculture and Human Sciences; College of Business; Department of Languages and Communications;
College of Juvenile Justice & Psychology; Political Science; College of Nursing; Department of History; Sociology and Social
Work ; University College ) for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff.
Organize, create and update Reference and Information Services’ department policy handbook for the reference and
instruction librarians
Organize, create and update Reference and Information Services’ department policy handbook for the student workers in the
library. Organize all reference and information services’ department statistics for usage and for maintenance of equipment.
Create user surveys for library patrons and update all department mission and vision goals
Organize and answer questions at the Reference Desk for 30 hours per-week and conduct library tours.
Create and Organize collection development materials in print and electronic formats for four library faculty liaison areas;
performing committee work on 17 library committees and five university committees;
Create and maintenance the reference and information services department’s library webpages in developing website content.
Organize and Conduct monthly meetings with Deans, Directors and Chairs on implementing library classes into syllabuses.
Library Faculty Liaison to the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Literature and Languages, Communication and
Journalism
Designed Web 2.0 web-based library content resource pages for subject specific area classes.
Provide four to eight hours a day of direct public reference service at the reference staff desk.
Recommend and Organize collection development of online and print materials in the areas of business, journalism,
communication, agriculture, education, reference, literature, languages, African American, Native American, Hispanic and
Asian library materials.
Course developed and Revised-Designed and Collaborated with the Literature and Languages’ Department a new class
entitled Professional Writing for Electronic Media ENGL 3043 and taught six (6) Electronic Media Library Research Instruction
classes in Spring 2009, Spring 2010.
Course developed and Revised Designed and Collaborated with the Literature and Languages’ Department enhancing the
Technical Writing ENGL 1143 class to included three classes on Web 2.0 (Social Networking, Blogging, E- Portfolios, Library
Research, Copyright and Plagiarism- Digital Age) classes in Summer 2010.
Organized and Chaired Library’s National Library Week, Banned Books Week and Women’s History Month events.
Serve/Chair/Vice Chair 16 library committees ( Acquisitions and Materials Budget; Black History Month-Vice Chair; Boards,
Signage and Displays; Collection Development; Distance Library Services Task Force; Fine Arts Appreciation Committee;

Supervise three to 10 library student assistants and library assistants on assigned reference desk duty times.
Supervised reference department student assistants and graduate assistants (schedule hours to work for the semester assign
task and duties, train, manage hours and payroll, hire, fire and evaluate duties performed by three-five reference student
assistants and two graduate assistants).
Opened and Closed all operations of the library on Sundays including the Circulation and Reference departments. Operations
include: open and close all front and back doors, computer terminals, electrical lights, cash register and all other relevant
closing and opening procedures. Handle library patrons’ reference questions as well give library tours and information literacy
database workshop classes on Sundays at Texas A&M University- Commerce.
Formulated online test set-ups, evaluate assignments, and check discussion board topics and quizzes for two online library
science classes per semester. Monitored the online classes’ discussion board forums, grades, student progresses,
assignments, course participation and emails in the course materials.
Established the first training program and manual for Students Assistants and Graduate Assistants who work in the Reference
Department of the library at Texas A&M University- Commerce.
Established and authored the first campus newspaper stories entitled “Librarian’s Nook for the TAMU-Commerce East Texan
newspaper.
Designed and promoted the first ever Texas A&M University- Commerce. James G. Gee Library Promotional Brochure and
James G. Gee Library Reference Department Newsletters.
Nominated and Chosen. Prairie View A&M University QEP- iREAD Academic Coach. Fall 2011 to Present
Retail Management Supervising: Accounted for all daily and nightly money draw tills; Supervised store inventory and sales
transactions; Organized work schedules for all employees; Supervised seven sales associates with daily work task and duties;
