Instructor Biography
R. A. “Bob” Dimambro
Senior Police Officer
Houston Police Department
Bob Dimambro graduated in 1975 from Southwest Texas State University as an honors graduate
earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement. After graduating Bob joined the
Houston Police Department in 1975 as a member of Class 71. During his 37 year career with
the Houston Police Department, Bob worked uniformed patrol and did a rotation in the jail
from 1975 thru 1980. In 1980 Bob transferred to the Narcotics Division where he worked street
level drug enforcement conducting undercover purchases, executed search warrants and
testified in court. Bob has also worked mid level drug enforcement targeting sources of supply
and has been involved in multiple OCEDEFF operations.
Bob is currently assigned to the HPD HIDTA TNET Squad #18. During his career 90 percent of
Bob’s tenure has centered on the manufacture, possession and distribution of controlled
substances. For the past 3 years Bob has been tasked with the investigations and seizures of
indoor marijuana cultivation operations in the City of Houston, County of Harris, surrounding
counties and the State of Texas.
Bob has an instructor certification from the Texas commission on Law Enforcement Officer
Standards and Education and has a bi-lingual officer certification with HPD and is considered an
expert witness in State District Court, Harris County, Texas in the area of methamphetamine
and its production. Bob has also been recognized in the following areas throughout his career:
DEA/OSHA certified for the investigation and processing of Clandestine Methamphetamine
(and other drug) Laboratories.
DEA/OSHA certified Clandestine Laboratory Supervisor
DEA/OSHA certified Clandestine Laboratory Site Safety Officer
DEA/OSHA certified Clandestine Laboratory Annual Recertification Instructor
