I was working in Department of Intensive Care Unit (Level 3) which had 40 beds in total
dedicated as Intensive Cardiac Care Unit / Intensive Care Unit / Surgical Intensive Care
Unit / High Dependency Unit. I can perform the following procedures independently:
i) Ventilator management: Independently managed more than 75 patients on Siemens
300A, GE DATAX Ohmeda, BiPAP - Respironics ESPIRIT).
ii) Endotracheal Intubations : Performed many Intubations in Intensive care unit.
iii) Central line placements: Have independently put more than 50 central venous lines
(Internal Jugular Vein, Subclavian Vein, Femoral Vein).

iv) Other Line Placements: Hemodialysis Catheter, Femoral arterial sheath, arterial
line, Femoral Venous sheath placement for Temporary Cardiac Pacing.
v) Other procedures: Performed numerous paracentesis plural, ascitic fluid aspiration
and Lumber punctures.
Working in Level 3 ICU, managing Critical Cardiac (Acute myocardial Infarction, Post
angioplasty, Post Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Valvular Heart Diseases etc cases),
Respiratory (severe Pneumonias, COPD, Bronchial Asthma etc), Neurological cases
(stroke, seizures etc), Gastrointestinal emergencies, Nephrology cases (Patient
management on Hemodialysis), Septicemia, Post operative cases (Oncology surgeries,
Orthopedic surgeries, GI surgeries, Renal and Liver Transplant surgeries etc) and many
more critical cases..


I was directly supervising the work of residents during this period and trained them in
various procedures. My responsibility included managing of the four units, under the
guidance of faculty. Had also carried out teaching activity as a registrar and had taught
in more than 50 undergraduate bedside clinics. Had presented more than 40 Intra - and
inter departmental Seminars / Symposia during this period.

May 2007 – April 2009
Resident at Department of Medicine, MGIMS, Sevagram.
Worked in Department of Medicine, which has 150 beds in total, of which 20 are
dedicated to the intensive care unit. I learned and performed the following procedures
during my training.
i)
Ventilator management: Independently managed more than 75 patients on
Drager Savina model 841400, Vela ventilators PB840, Nelcor-Puritan-Bennett
840 ventilator system as well as Respironics BiPAP (NIV).
ii) Endotracheal Intubations : Performed many Intubations in Intensive care unit.
iii) Peritoneal Dialysis: Performed about 5 PDs independently.
iv) Pericardiocentesis: Performed more than 15 Pericardiocentesis both blind and
under ultrasound guidance.
v) Central line placements: Have independently put more than 50 central venous lines.

vi) Other procedures: performed numerous paracentesis plural, ascitic fluid aspiration
and Lumber punctures.
During my inpatient postings have independently managed various emergencies,
including Acute Myocardial Infarction, CCF, COAD, Organophosphorus, Poisonings,
Snake bites, Hepatic Encephalopathies, Encephalitis, Strokes etc.
Have independently managed out patient department in the hospital and also various
outreach Medicine OPD’s conducted by the institute.


Participated in the neurological case presentations, postgraduate teaching activities at
the Department of neurology. Was also posted in the neurology OPD, IPD and Intensive
care unit during the period.

January 2006 - December 2004:
Resident Medical Officer at Mohanlal Dayal Prasuti Gruh and General Hospital, Valsad,
Gujarat, India
Worked as a resident Medical Officer taking care of Outpatient and Inpatient
department. At this Hospital prescribed and administered treatment, therapy,
medication, vaccination and other care to treat and prevent illness, disease and injury.
Also had an excellent exposure to Intensive care unit management (managing Cardiac,
severe pneumonia, tuberculosis, organophosphorous compound poisoning and more
cases…) and a naked eye view about the rural health and managing there by organizing
community camps. Also implemented and administered National Health Programmes
standards in the hospital and community for information, prevention and management of
Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. This was part of a 2 year rural posting mandated by
MGIMS, Sevagram.

January 2002 – January 2003:

During this clinical clerkship worked in various departments. Learned various
procedures such as venipuncture, pleural and peritoneal fluid sampling, drainage of
small abscesses, removal of uncomplicated growths and skin suturing. Furthermore, I
have also participated in Public Health tasks such as Pulse Polio Immunizations and
