Work across the One AMREF global structure to ensure that all opportunities are maximised, learning shared, and we play to our strengths in order to have greater impact for the people of Africa whom AMREF exists to serve AMREF UK’s Fundraising Marketing Strategy: The Marketing team at AMREF UK is a revised function of the AMREF Fundraising and Communications team representing our new approach to income generation. As we move forward, with a new global governance structure for AMREF and an even stronger focus on ‘unrestricted’ income, it is key that AMREF UK raises our profile to key audiences in the UK and grows our database of fundraisers and individual donors. The Marketing team at AMREF UK are responsible all marketing activities across all channels, drive donations and fundraising from the public (within specified target audiences) and add marketable data to the database, including Individual Giving, Community and Events fundraising, Brand, Communications and publications, media and pr, website, social media and digital marketing. Principal Functions Under the guidance of the Head of Marketing, the Individual Fundraising Executive is responsible for the following areas: 1. Deliver AMREF UK’s strategy to maximise our warm individual donor base for supporter loyalty and lifetime value. - Deliver an annual programme of communications, off and online, to maximise income and minimise attrition Manage campaigns to uplift and reactivate our donors including telemarketing and other activities aswell as direct mail Manage agencies and 3rd party suppliers in the delivery of these campaigns and activities Develop a thorough understanding of our donor motivations and preferences in order to create impactful communications that result in increased responses and support and showcase AMREF’s impact on improving health in Africa Provide excellent supporter care to all donors. Create data selection briefs and produce segmented mailing lists for the marketing team as required Support the annual planning and budgeting cycle 2. Deliver AMREF’s UK’s legacy strategy to maximise income - - Regularly refresh our legacy campaign materials to ensure they are accurate and effective in deliverying our plans and strategy Manage AMREF’s membership of sector bodies and proactively network with the same to ensure our knowledge of sector developments and initiatives is current and can be maximised Manage our in-memory fundraising activity Ensure that both legacy and in-memory fundraising are proactively communicated whenever and wherever appropriate across AMREF UK 3. Reporting and analysis, and financial reconciliation for the Marketing team - Monitor income and expenditure budgets, produce monthly and quarterly financial and attrition reports. - Produce campaign analysis reports to measure performance against objectives and budgets, in order to make recommendations and to inform future activities. - Work with the Finance Officer to ensure that fundraising income (from warm appeals, our website and committed givers) is accurately recorded in a timely way according to Institute of Fundraising best practise guidelines 4. Website and online fundraising. - Produce monthly e-newsletters to send to warm supporters.. - Manage AMREF UK’s online fundraising avenues and ensure the website is maximised for donations 5. Proactively championing good knowledge management and continually seek to improve systems and processes. - As part of the Fundraising team, play your role in ensuring that AMREF’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge) is well maintained, accurate, up to date and accessible. - With the Marketing Assistant, support other fundraising and communications team members in their use of Raiser’s Edge, and champion best practice. 6. IV. Recruitment Criteria Essential - Good understanding of direct marketing principles and experience of managing direct marketing campaigns - Experience of customer care and a clear understanding of the donor journey, donor development and maximising life time value. - Experience of manipulating, interpreting and analysing quantitative data - Strong written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills. - Experience of project management and management of 3rd party agencies - Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. - Experience of using Raisers Edge or another customer relationship management database. - Proven attention to detail, organisational and time management skills. - Excellent numeracy skills. Desirable - Educated to Bachelors degree level. - Experience of working in a fundraising, marketing or customer services department. - Experience of using CMS and online fundraising or marketing tools. - Knowledge and understanding of Africa and the development context.
