by the Spirit
“It is in communities which are full of joy and the
Holy Spirit that the union of hearts is forged”
Unless you, Lord, recreate the Congregation,
we labour in vain to make it stand.
Unless you, Lord, watch over our Hospitaller Community
we, its members, labour in vain.
Drive the Congregation with your Spirit, Lord,
renew it with a new breath of life in its desires.
Drive the Congregation with your Spirit, Lord,
surround it with your creative strength and your transforming fire.
Drive the Congregation with your Spirit, Lord,
may it continue to manifest the creative action of the Father's mercy.
Drive the Congregation with your Spirit, Lord and help it
to return to the source of its passion for You and for humanity.
Watch over our Hospitaller Community;
free us from our fears and reluctance.
Watch over our Hospitaller Community: save us from indifference.
Watch over our Hospitaller Community: rescue us from individualism.
Watch over our Hospitaller Community: free us of our lack of communion.
You have called us together, Lord, to recreate our choice of You, the Good Samaritan.
You have called us together, Lord, to recreate the union of hearts.
You have called us together, Lord,
to recreate the announcement and testimony of our vocation.
You have called us together, Lord, to recreate hospitality with others.
You have called us together, Lord, to recreate our commitment to the least.
We awake early in the morning, Lord, to allow you to surprise us.
We awake early in the morning, Lord, to mistrust ourselves and to trust in you.
Your love for the Congregation "does not know how to say ‘enough!’”
It is therefore pinning its trust in, and abandoning itself to You, during this Chapter.
You give it bread and prepare its table while it sleeps during the night
You fill "your beloved daughters" who hope in You with good things
You are showering your gifts on this Capitular Community.
Make us faithful to your commandments.

Give us a heart capable of opening up to the signs of the times.
Give us a heart capable of performing Jesus’ healing mission.
Give us a heart capable of listening to You in total readiness.
Give us a heart capable of responding to Your call with joy and hope.
Give us a heart capable of recreating hospitality.
We are Hospitallers of the Heart of Jesus, born of the power of the Spirit.
We are Hospitallers of the Heart of Jesus, called to build anew.
We are Hospitallers of the Heart of Jesus, receptive to new ways of living.
We are Hospitallers of the Heart of Jesus,
committed to recreating hospitality.
Open up our life to the gift
and may we leave the sweet fragrance of hospitality along our path.
Help us to rediscover the joy of living together as sisters,
loving and serving God in the sick.
Give us an unfettered heart,
capable of moving forward, looking at the present, with a vision of the future.
