Google Sheets and Docs are spreadsheet and word processing tools offered by Google. Since they live in the browser, you have
access to your documents and can rely on Google Drive for an entirely cloud-based experience. In this session we'll begin with
Docs by exploring the user interface. We'll create, edit and save documents, including formatting to get a professional look.
Sharing documents has become an essential tool, so we'll focus on Google's solution to real-time collaboration.
Next, we'll move on to Google Sheets by exploring the user interface. We'll create, edit and save spreadsheets, including
formatting to get that professional look. Check out how to edit cells and use basic formulas and functions to make your life
easier. Importing and sharing spreadsheets is easy and will allow for cloud-based collaboration.

shapes are used for. Are you new to building formulas? We will provide you with the basics to help you build formulas quickly.

easier. We’ll share strategies on how to use Gmail’s search capabilities, filters, labels, labs, tasks, and other handy features. All

Advanced Gmail Productivity is designed for those who are comfortable using Gmail but are looking to take their productivity
to the next level. We will cover advanced search options, task management, extensions, and mobile apps. We’ll also share ways
to save time using Hangouts, Google Groups, Google Docs, and other integrations.
Best Practices in Google Drive: Josh Blumberg (Champlain Staff) – 11:05 – 12:05, Foster 100

Armed with a few concepts and best practices you too can be a Google Drive Ninja! Google Drive for Education provides
unlimited cloud based storage and an incredible tool set to share, collaborate and sync across all of your devices. This
workshop will cover: how to leverage Google Drive for your own work, your departments work, collaborative work across the
college and coursework for students. We will cover; what data is appropriate for Google Drive, how to maintain the security of
this data and how to preserve this data over the long term for a department. Bring your own questions and challenges for us to
tackle. This workshop is appropriate for almost all levels of Google Drive experience including complete beginners and those
who use Drive but find it hard to organize and maintain.

Biographies
Mark Zammuto - Mark is a Career Development Enthusiast with 10 years’ experience in advising. He earned his M.Ed. in
School Counseling at UMass Amherst and values implementing efficiencies and innovation into his workflow. He seeks to
empower others with social mobility, creativity and resilience through career management education.
Ursula Jones - Ursula manages course production and development for the Continuing Professional Studies Division. She
considers herself to be a productivity geek, and is always looking for ways to do things faster, smarter, and more efficiently. She
graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. degree in Political Science and is currently working towards a M.S. in
Executive Leadership at Champlain College.
Josh Blumberg - Josh Blumberg is the Director of Academic Technology in the eLearning department of Champlain
College. Josh came to Champlain College 3 years ago having previously worked as a K-12 technology director, teacher,
educational software developer and outdoor guide. Josh has a M.Ed from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has a
B.S. in Computer Science and B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of Rochester.
Jonathan Hood, KnowledgeWave - Jon teaches all levels of Microsoft Office desktop applications and provides a special
focus on SaaS applications like Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365. Jon specializes in providing training related to
collaboration features of the latest software to assist with end-user adoption and acceptance. Jon’s personal passions also
provide him with top-notch skills for teaching and coaching of clients Adobe software such as Photoshop, InDesign, and
Illustrator. Prior to joining KnowledgeWave, Jon worked for the American Red Cross where he was a Divisional Instructor,
providing fundamentals and continuing education for staff across the New England region.
David Thibault, KnowledgeWave - With 12+ years of experience teaching the Microsoft Office Suite, David Thibault,
Director of Education for KnowledgeWave Training, uses his upbeat, high energy teaching style in the classroom and
online. David has led corporate implementations of new software and written coursework for all applications within the Office
Suite as well as for 3rd party software. He continues to specialize in classroom instruction as well as delivering corporate and
open enrollment webinars. His years managing consulting projects have ranged from rollouts to upgrades and mentoring
services, giving him the “real-world” knowledge that brings so much value to his classroom and online lessons. David
specializes in end-user support related to the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
