Divide your warehouse into zones to accommodate different storage needs such as temperature requirements or the rate of turnover of various items. You can specify warehouse locations on six levels: site, warehouse, aisle, rack, shelf, and bin. You can define each location based on parameters such as space and pallet type. In addition, you can either control how items are stored based on predefined location rules, or have the flexibility to randomly manage item storage. All warehouse activities are recorded, so you can recreate a complete history of actions and item identifiers by using an audit trail. Bar-coding and/or RFID can be used to increase the speed and accuracy of picking and putting away items. Warehouse Management in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 also helps you determine Inbound process the most logical sequence of picking locations in order to optimize your picking routes and speed up order fulfillment to your customers. You can achieve faster picking and packing with good visibility into possible picking locations, including full pallet picking from bulk areas being consolidated with guided picking routes and following delivering of items to shipment staging. Forklift control is supported in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 with policies such as maximum lifting height. As part of the shipment staging process, tracking of the loading can be recorded to ensure full outbound process accuracy to the end. Advanced shipping notices (ASN) help you to send information to the receiver to let them know what they are going to receive in advance. You can improve overall efficiency with transfers, using lead time with calendar functionality for the outbound and inbound processes when moving items between warehouses, including tracking of physical goods in transit. INCREASE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Outbound process Register goods as they arrive at the warehouse, so that they are visible throughout the system before they have been placed in inventory. For improved traceability, you can use tracking dimensions like batch and/or serial numbers, all providing a clear view of items in your warehouse along with tracking RFID tags.
