How to write a “Personal Profile” for your CV
Your CV is one of the most important documents you will have when it comes to looking for work. It
will grow and develop with you throughout your life and career. The profile, located at the top of
your CV (just below your name and contact details), is one of the first things an employer will read to
decide whether to interview you or not. Make it too long, and they will be too busy to read it all.
Make it too short or impersonal, and you won’t stand out from the crowd.
This workbook will help you write an engaging Personal Profile, which will help you to achieve the
Apprenticeship, Saturday job, or college placement you have always wanted!
1) Use the box below to write down at least 10 skills or qualities you think an employer is
looking for in an employee. Eg: Honest. Hard working. Efficient.

including English, Maths, Science and ICT.

would be transferrable to a work environment where customer contact is required. I have excellent
